A popular tradition among fans waiting for their favorite book, comic, graphic novel, etc. to be adapted to the screen is to make fake trailers. Generally someone will just splice together shots from different movies within the same genre, slap some epic music behind it and upload it to Youtube. While these trailers contain no actual footage of the movie or show, they are still entertaining and, if well done, can be quite exciting and help build anticipation.
I figured it would only be a matter of time before we started seeing fan trailers for Game of Thrones. Here is one I found on Youtube the other day that was pretty good. It looks like it was made and uploaded a year ago, so some of you may have already seen it, but I thought it was worth posting. I know it upped my excitement level just a bit and I’m looking forward to the day we get to see an official trailer.

I found this trailer on YouTube just recently myself and I must say that it is extremely well done (apart from a minor spelling error at the beginning) and definitely boosts my enthusiasm about the pilot being created. My one wish is that the music in the real HBO show is just as epic and memorable.

This Fan-Trailer was made by “Spellonca”, a member of the german-speaking ASOIAF-Fansite, from South-Tirol / Italy in July 2005 and finished four months later.

Ser Steffon: The trailer is very well done. I wonder if Spellonca is planning on remaking it anytime soon? Maybe changing the title, fixing a spelling error, taking out some LOTR shots? That would make it perfect, in my opinion.

Oh and like always the oh so perceptive idiot “But this looks like LODR”… wow you are real genius. I mean I am so in awe… uhm not. The creator did a incredible job on this and of course he used what he knew. But I guess all of you could do so much better, right? Ah I guess not.. what a suprise. Even if this is old (sort of nowadays…) it is still awesome and I like to watch it from time to time to make the wait easier. GO HBO!

Wow, I've seen this clip before but I still got goosebumps! When I first saw it I thought maybe it was created by D&D as a part of their pitch to HBO to greenlight the pilot…
