No Ned for Davenport

Well, we can scratch Jack Davenport off the list of potential actors for the role of Eddard. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he has been cast as a lead in the pilot for ABC’s Flash Forward.

Courtney B. Vance and Jack Davenport are the first actors cast in ABC’s hot drama pilot “Flash Forward,” which is rumored as a potential companion to “Lost.”

“Flash Forward,” from David S. Goyer, Brannon Braga and ABC Studios, is based on Robert J. Sawyer’s sci-fi novel and chronicles the chaos that ensues after everyone in the world blacks out for 2 minutes and 17 seconds and has a mysterious vision of the future that changes lives forever.

Winter Is Coming: Assuming this gets picked up, which it seems like it will, that would mean Davenport is totally out of the running. Which is a shame as I thought he would have been a good fit. Interestingly enough, one of the producers for this project is Vince Gerardis, who is also co-executive producing Game of Thrones. So if this happens to not get a series order, who knows?

    Thats sad for him… the book Flash Forward is based on hardly seems “series worthy”. The author is great, and his novel Hominids won a Nebula and a Hugo, but Flash Forward has a pretty lame concept… I bet its cancelled after season 1… for Sci Fi to survive on TV it has to be THAT good…
