Lloyd continues to talk up Thrones

The Observer has a piece entitled The Hot List 2010 and Harry Lloyd made the list. In the short blurb about Lloyd they mention Game of Thrones.

Lloyd, meanwhile, is used to playing around with the dark side. His most talked-about part to date has been a scene-stealing role as a Doctor Who villain (in The Family of Blood episode), and he has just recorded a pilot for HBO’s Game of Thrones, a major ensemble piece crammed with British luminaries which Lloyd describes with relish as a “dark, political intrigue set in a fantasy world… with incest”

Winter Is Coming: Again, you gotta love the way Lloyd continues to talk about Thrones. Not only is it great to hear he is passionate about the project, but the fact he keeps mentioning it means he must feel confident in it getting picked up.

  • somebody needs to tell these actors and reviewers and the like that the "incest" thing is supposed to be a surprise plot twist … if you keep broadcasting it from the rafters it is hardly going to be a surprise … sheesh.

  • The "incest" thing is all over the net allready.
And maybe (just maybe) it is not a such bad thing to grow more buzz around the project.

The people, (future viewers) are usually intrigued by such a "juicy" things.
    Saddly, but truly.

In GoT, there are lot of more suprises to come, than the "incest" thing from the pilot.

  • The Newsweek has also a list named Most important people in 2010.

One of them is HBO president Sue Naegle.

    The link is here.

And the most interesting part to us is this:
"…Also on tap: a third season of In Treatment and a potential order for the hotly anticipated fantasy series Game of Thrones…"

  • I'm not sure that the incest is much of a twist or surprise. The reader is always "in" on the relationship.

  • He might well be talking about the Targaryen incest…and he isn't specific about when/where it happens. Just that it's there.

  • nah, Incest is the fake surprise. It's the perfect thing to advertise. The things he does for love is the cliffhanger.

  • I am fast becoming Harry Lloyd's biggest fan. I LOVE HIS ENTHUSIASM~!

He's got one of the nastiest roles in Game of Thrones. How fun it must be to play the psycho twin who gets a gold helmet…

My thoughts exactly. I don't think he's referring the twincest since it has little to do with his character, unlike the Targaryen family tradition.

  • I digged up a very special thing today.

The podcast with our dear blog-master is online!

To whome am I going to say thanks to put one of the songs of my favorite band in the begining of the podcast?

    …back to listen to it…

  • it's probably already been discussed here, but does anyone know why amazon and borders both show a June 25, 2010 release date for ADWD? Nothing about that is on George's blog.

As for Lloyd it is good to here the actors being excited about the project, but George best finish it before the tv series catches up to his writing!

  • @ Anchronite: Amazon pulls dates out of a hat and assigns them to books.

Although the June 2010 date is not entirely impossible at the moment.

  • Sorry for offtopic but the podcast with our dear Winter was sesnational. I really enjoyed it. And that little Led Zeppelin thing at the end (after outro music) was great :))

  • Well, new topic for podpcast just popped up, so i should have waited and throw my feelings there not here.

  • I picked that one up over the christmas too, but have to admit playing with my daughter and wii was more important than posting it on my site.

What was interesting is that Harry is seen as one of top 10 to watch in 2010. Very talented actor who has put in some excellent performances especially in Dr who and the remake of goodbye Mr chips.

I would agree nice to see him so up for it.

  • Hello All,

More on Harry Lloyd today and another mention of GoT:

Harry has just filmed a pilot for HBO, Game of Thrones, which should make him as much of a household name as Gemma if it's picked up in March. It's an epic fantasy in which seven aristocratic families fight to control a kingdom. Harry plays the 'beggar king', Viserys Targaryen, battling against Sean Bean. As a result, he is turning his thoughts towards Hollywood, albeit with some reluctance. 'American agents have started calling,
