Two new set photos

There are two new photos of the Doune castle courtyard set that have surfaced on our Facebook fan group site. A guy named Brian took these last October, just before a scene was shot.

Hear Me Roar: It is a familiar set, but the keen eyes of our readers will surely enjoy some more prop details that were captured in these pics. We shall see if the crew returns to the location; what with all the photos that people took there and shared online, they may consider it too public of a place. Still, this is no major leak, so hopefully no one will mind too much.

Yes, but this time, if you nearly knock the Kingslayer on his arse coming out of the lavatory, at least say hello!

    Nice pics, HmR!

If anyone is interested in passing the time playing a Westeros version of RISK, see here for details:

I'm also thinking of creating an iPhone or Android version of the game.

That looks almost exactly like the way I picture Winterfell’s interior courtyard when I read the books, creepy!

Maisie Williams got a present from GRRM too!

    From her Twitter account:

"I've got a present *hint* it's got a pointy end … thanks george!!"

Wow! I never knew they played basketball in Westeros! I guess it makes sense though that they would put up the hoops in the yard and use the old peach basket hoops in lieu of the invention of nylon netting. Although I do seem to remember Tyrion reading something about an invention called a "Myrish Fiberglass Backboard" in the Winterfell library in book one.

That second photo makes me think of the Arya-Jon scene, just before Jon gives her Needle. :D

On a slightly related note, Starz has greenlighted the series Camelot, which will also start production in June in Ireland, and casting is under way.
    http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_displ…

It is also "slated to premiere in first-half 2011".

Big names attached to it: Graham King (The Departed, The Young Victoria), Tim Headington (The Young Victoria), Morgan O'Sullivan and Michael Hirst (The Tudors), Chris Chibnall (Torchwood), James Flynn, Douglas Rae and John Weber.

From Sophie Turner's twitter, we learn that GRRM also sent her "a few little miniture me's!!!!!!!" and that there is supposed to be a meet up "in April?". I wonder if that's just a casual meeting with Isaac H.E and Maisie Williams, and if that includes Richard Madden or more of the cast, or if the meet up is actually a professional function called by D&D…

    She's breakdancing! LOL I just had a vision of Arya/Ary as a b-boy! :)

I have tried looking for a risk version of Westeros. An iphone/ipod touch version would be awesome and greatly appreciated.

This seems like an interesting project. Michael Hirst is an awesome writer/historian, but this "modern retelling" is a bit out of his wheelhouse.

Guess I'll have to get Starz, not just for this, but for "Pillars of the Earth" too.

wow, michael is sure as hell a busy-bee — he is also penning "the borgias" for showtime. that show, btw, will premiere in early 2011 and will probably be a strong contender for the viewers and awards of GoT

I think their parents should let them read the books, or they should take some initiative and go to a library/ bookstore and grab a copy. I mean seriously summary notes? get into it…

Right, except you don't need pre-teens reading about half of the shit that goes on in those bedrooms, not to mention any of the things GREGOR does. Or the Brave Companions.

"Myrish swamp" still wins the turn-a-phrase war though.

I guess I'd rather not shelter my children, and let them use their own judgement to pick through the books.

    ohhhh…come here then!

    *GROUP HUG*

I just thought that maybe my chat about braziers, the pilot, the Hound texting, chatting with Alfie Allen etc, were getting a bit boring and you also caught me in a foul mood so…my apologies.

Now, about Braziers. You can't just chuck the wood in you know. It has to be placed in carefully to maximise the duration of the burn. Also, alot of thought has to be put into the placing of the woodpile in relation to the Brazier and of course you…..

    Hey!

    Where is everyone??

There's a joke there somewhere about getting wood to put in braziers…
