Quick Hits: Interviews and a blog post

A few Game of Thrones related news tidbits from the past week or so…

First, Aidan Gillen was interviewed on Irish radio station RTE 2fm. He mostly talks about his career in general and his new television show Love/Hate, but he does talk Game of Thrones and his thoughts on his character, Littlefinger. The interview starts at the 99:15 mark, the Thrones stuff at about 106:00.

Another interview over at Scotland on Sunday with actor Emun Elliott, who plays Marillion. He mentions Thrones briefly and describes it as “a fantasy epic with a cast of 250″ and says “everything about it is huge.”

Lastly, Conan Stevens has posted a new blog post where he describes his technique when it comes to fights scenes. He mentions getting inside the head of the character and specifically talks about Gregor’s fight style.

In GoT I play a knight in heavy armour with a large sword, now I, and important others, see this character as lacking finese, no fine sword play more of a “might makes right” mentality with smashing powerful blows – much akin to my own fight style.

Oh, and currently George R. R. Martin is holding a panel at Octocon on the subject of Game of Thrones with a special guest, our friend Kristian Nairn aka Hodor! Follow my Twitter for updates and be sure to check back here later where we will hopefully have a full report.

It sounds like Osha’s role will be expanded in The Winds of Winter because she is played by Natalie Tena (Tonks in Harry Potter) in Game of Thrones, at least that’s how I interpret Cheryl Morgan’s tweet from Octocon.

Correction: The series’ final book would be A Dream of Spring.

I find it rather discouraging he’s planning on doing that. If she’s such a great actress she won’t return for season 6 or 7. On the other side, we do get to find out where the hell she went with Rickon…

Can’t wait to see these awesome sets he mentioned. Also the Tourney episodes will be rocking with Gregor vs. blank blank blank :D

I really enjoyed Conans blopost. I think his thoughts on moviecombat were entertaining and it was great to hear about his training with Rory McCann. I am excited about the way they really go at it which each other. A lot of televisionfigthing look kind of lame and fake, so I glad they are doing so much to make it seem real.

Aiden Gillen can’t be accused of ‘oversharing’ in his radio interview! Almost sounds like he’s bored and/or has got better things to do than talk to that host…

Yay for Osha and Natalia Tena! And Conan, always my fangirl love. Speaking for the fans, your blog posts ROCK!
