Yes, the show is airing now, but HBO is still releasing trailers. The latest Game of Thrones trailer is 30 seconds of quick cuts from the series (including a bunch we haven’t seen yet) interspersed with quotes pulled from TV critics’ reviews of the show.
Winter Is Coming: An effective little trailer. Certainly one that could entice people on the fence about the show to check it out. Since it is 30 seconds long, I’m guessing HBO will air this on broadcast and other cable networks to attract new viewers.

A lot a teasers for the novel readers in there!!! Visarys yelling in front of Drogo could only be his “crowning” scene. Jon pulling his sword indoors is probably to fight the wights. Ice being drawn may have been for Ned’s sake
Who was in the Gods’ Wood with the figure approaching? It looked like Bran.
Why was Tyrion in front of Robb? That was Maester Luwin and Greywind with him, so it must be back at Winterfell.

Yes, I think it was Bran, and looked like Osha approaching him. I think I saw shackles around her ankles.
Also, as others have said, Tyrion stops by Winterfell on his way south, because Jon asked him to help Bran like he helped Jon. Tyrion teaches the folk at Winterfell to make a saddle for Bran so he can ride, crippled as he is.

Team Sansa,
It’s rooted in a misunderstanding that arose during the first Maester’s Path challange. A few key fans got sent a box with some props including vials/flasks of liquids with smells representative of some of the locations in Westeros and abroad. Then the first Maester’s Path challange referred to those smells, and the fandom worked together to solve the puzzle, based on pictures of the box contents the lucky owners posted. One of the props was a map printed on what looked like old parchment, and on the back of it you could faintly make out a mirror image of the words “Always support the bottom”, which was suspected to be a hint for the puzzle, until the producers clarified that it was not so. Turned out it was merely an imprint from some heavy object that had been use to flatten the parchment or some such, the words meaning that the bottom of the heavy object should always be supported, so it wouldn’t fall out. It was such a funny misunderstanding though, that the makers of the Maesters Path actually referenced it in another one of the puzzles, where the words were included in a sentence in a letter supposedly written by some maester hundreds of years before the current events in the story.
The words have since been adopted as the “words of our House”, here at Winter is coming, for fun.
RutepQuote Reply
When the show was ramping up, HBO sent a Maester’s Box to Winter and other savvy folks. It had vials of scents and other cool stuff. The things in this box were clues to solve some of the puzzles that were sent out to view film clip rewards. While Winter was searching for clues, he saw something very faint on the bottom of the box. The letters looked to read Always support the Bottom. It became a running joke, even working its way into one of the game challenges. So Always support the Bottom became a rally cry of praise whenever someone posted.

I’ve been avoiding any clips and such, but this barely qualifies as a preview. It’s only 30 seconds and a lot of that is flashes of critics praise. Yes, a watershed moment in the history of House Gatewatch.
The prior responses paint the picture accurately. I would just like to add and give credit to our very own poster, Tar Kidho, who, using advanced photo enhancing software, actually confirmed the phrase on the parchment was indeed, “Always Support the Bottom”. The resulting enhanced image is here.
The link to the entire post which, no doubt, will find its way into the Library of Congress someday, is here.
Finally, I reminisce that it was on that post that this poster changed his name from “Mike” to “Mike Chair” in a pledge of loyalty to House Gatewatch to “Always Support the Bottom.”

Blackfish Blues, BwP
McKee, I understand you! (Also the dark tone, aye. Bugger the world.) I’m the one who was making my own screencaps from previews because those at Westeros.org, though excellent, did not feature enough Barristan. :D
Also, previews are vital for marketing and publicity, so yay for previews!
But when I watched E1 I was so disappointed, and so scared that GOT might not be so good after all, that I swore all anticipations off. And indeed E2 made me much happier, even though I had seen several scenes already.
(Some were even deliberately misleading in the previews. Dany and Doreah’s “lesson” was sweet and funny, not a “let’s shock the audience” scene as the previews hinted at. Exactly like Giulia and Lucrezia’s kiss in “The Borgias”.)
So, to each his/her own, but I’m glad I’m not the only Brother (Sister?) Without Previews. This is my own way of supporting the bottom, after all!

What’s up with the wide shot of the Dothraki trudging across the grass? That seems like an incredibly boring shot to include in an otherwise intense and fast trailer. Then it all flashed by so quickly that I was left with only one image stuck in my head and no way to understand it – Tyrion and another direwolf? Luckily, I could come here and have my question answered. It must indeed have been Tyrion at Winterfell on his way back south. I’d forgotten that scene. More Peter Dinklage is always a good thing. But my momentary confusion has reinforced in me the decision to return to the BwP fold.

Seriously!
This talk of 10 episodes is freaking me out!
Sure at the beginning to hook new viewers you want/need to edit the dialogue to get to the action and pivotal moments..
But you don’t need/want to do this as the story develops, or the story and characters will under-develop.
We are not talking about shooting in new locations or filming extra expensive battle scenes..
We are just talking about extra dialogue scenes between characters, surely the cast and crew who are already there can say/film a few extra lines/scenes!
It’s not going to significantly make much of a difference to the budget I wouldn’t think.
I am also hopeful that the dvd release will have extended footage versions of the episodes, but I’m not holding my breath.
Love the books.. and the show ;)

But thinking about it yeah, lot of stuff happened off-focus, so not sure how they thinking to adapt that…but cutting things? I’m not sure is the route they will take (minor ofc, I’m referring to major stuff)

For example you can reduce all the Greyjoy stuff greatly (I hope they keep the Asha scene tought). The first 5 Bran chapters can also be condensed in a few scenes.

Why would they reduce the Greyjoy stuff? And specially the Asha scene, now that Asha has a POV in ADWD. breastplate nipples,
Cheap fabric paint and an old pair of shorts you don’t mind ruining :)
I wear shorts under my skirt when I dance (modesty reasons), will have to see if anyone spots the writing next time :)

EW.
I had no choice but to watch this thing today, for every TV channel in the US that has the morning news had this on instead. Mayhaps, this was the only morning news.
No deaths. No rapes. Not even a box of snakes. Booooor-ring.

We….are….fucked…. o.O
Slightly hyperbolic perhaps? I’m not sure we’ll be needing to repel Ironborn raiders any time soon. :D

Speaking of critics’ praise (and forgive me if this was contained in some preview I didn’t watch because I’m BwP or if this was linked earlier and I didn’t remember — but I don’t think it was),
Rolling Stone Magazine says :
Rolling Stone Magazine is huge because it hits the perfect demographic.
The writer seems to have seen the first six episodes and/or has read the books so beware of spoilers.

Mike Chair,

I agree and I agree with ALL those supportive reviews….I am soooooooo glad the show is getting its due credits! Everytime I see and episode I hunger for the next and the next…thank heavens Sunday is just a few hours away and the new episode is forthcoming…yay with one of my favourites Jon Snow! I will probably end up watching the episode about 4 times minimum…during air-time, repeats, OnDemand and what have you…good times!
