Episode 7 Open Chat

Episode 7 of Game of Thrones, You Win or You Die, is only hours away. Use this thread to discuss what you are excited about seeing tonight and also to discuss the episode as it airs. We will have a post-episode discussion thread up immediately after, although our recap and reaction will come later, once I can rewatch the episode and make my notes. If you’ve already seen this episode, please refrain from spoiling any of the events. Thanks! Episode details after the jump.

Title: You Win or You Die
Director: Daniel Minahan
Writers: David Benioff & D.B. Weiss
Synopsis: Explaining that the future of the Lannisters is at stake, Tywin (Charles Dance) presses Jaime to “be the man you were meant to be” as they prepare for battle.  Ned confronts Cersei about the secrets that killed Jon Arryn.  With the fate of the missing Benjen (Joseph Mawle) very much on his mind, Jon Snow takes his Night’s Watch vows, though not with the assignment he coveted.  After Ser Jorah (Iain Glenn) saves Daenerys from treachery, an enraged Drogo vows to lead the Dothraki where they’ve never gone before.  An injured Robert takes pains to ensure an orderly transition at King’s Landing.

This is the first episode that contains scenes that are completely new to my husband (who read only up to Brans encounter with the wildlings or thereabouts). So I’m very excited to see his reactions to the rest of the seasons episodes. He’s enjoyed everything so far.

Agaisnt all odds, I actually managed to resist watching this one early.

The fact that the webrips were supposed to be pretty bad quality helped, though.

Can’t wait to see Tywin all Tywinning around being Tywin :D

    Sorry WIC!

Figured since barkgate had been mentioned in other threads(meaning not only the ep 7 early open chat one), it was fair game here.

Don’t know what to expect from this episode, as I am unspoiled, but I am looking forward to it.

I want to tell you guys that I was at the beach today with my wife and the Memorial Day crowd. As we were packing up our barbecue potato chips, salami, cheese and watermelon, I overheard a young couple lounging on their beach towel next to us. They were talking about Thrones! The woman was talking about all the enemies of the Starks and trying to keep track of the machinations. They obviously hadn’t read the books.

I whispered to my wife: ‘They’re talking about Game of Thrones!” She laughed and said: “You should say something.” So after a moment I said: “You guys just wait until the season finale, you are going to freak!” They looked up and I said, “Oh, excuse me, I couldn’t help but overhear.”

They were cool and we talked for a few moments and shared a nice little Geek moment.

    Thrones fans are everywhere!

I absolutely can’t wait for the episode to start! I have a dedicated little group of newbies who haven’t read the books yet and they are dying to know whats gonna happen. I have a strict rule that I don’t even raise an eyebrow when questioned on whats happening next so they’ll get nothing from me. Am I the only one who feels bad for the people who rushed out to watch it on hbo go and now have nothing new to look forward to? no doctor who this weekend and no new thrones? what a sad weekend for them. As for us its bbq, a good dornish red and THE WALL! huzzah!

I just left a cookout. Eight o’clock came and everyone left to go home and watch Game of Thrones Episode 7 YOU WIN OR YOU DIE!

I watched it last week on HBOGo (finally) on 17″ Mac and tonight I’m watching it again on 42″ HD.

I held off on watching also, but I did read all the posts on the episode, doh!

But it’s all not really anything I’m not expecting as far as knowing the story inside out. I’m real excited about this episode, but very nervous also!

My sister is going to hate me after the last scene.
