Quick Hits: Interviews and funny stuff

Here’s your weekly round-up of notable Game of Thrones news and notes:

  • Check out our latest The Pointy End comic which contains a “deleted scene” from episode 7.
  • The latest Game of Thrones Parody video is up and it is hilarious. I lost it at “Tell the queen.”
  • And in even more Thrones-related humor news, this Stupid Ned Stark meme has been making the rounds. Some are these are great. “TRUST LITTLEFINGER”
  • Speaking of Littlefinger, check out Aidan Gillen in these short video interviews from IGN UK. In one, he talks about the nudity in Game of Thrones and in the other he talks about what to expect from his character in season two.
  • TV Guide interviewed Maisie Williams where she reveals that her mom has been letting her watch the show. (Watch out for some episode eight spoilers in this one.)
  • Rolling Stone has a two-page article on Peter Dinklage where he talks a bit about Thrones.
  • A couple new websites that have been covering Thrones: GoT-Forums.com and HBO Watch. Check them out if you feel so inclined.
  • Some additional items of note: this interview with Emilia Clarke by GameOfThrones.hu (here it is translated into Engligh) and Elio of Westeros.org interviews Dothraki language creator David J. Peterson at Suvudu.

Stupid Ned Stark meme is hilarious. I feel like we’ve past some kind of Internet milestone by (the show) inspiring a meme.

You could add Elio Garcia’s article where he interviews David Peterson about Dothraki and other languages created for the show. http://sf-fantasy.suvudu.com/2011/06/me-nem-nesa-david-j-peterson-and-the-dothraki-language.html

    I loved the parody video.

I hope any one of the cast members (especially Maisie, of course) hosts SNL next season. I’d love to see something like Jay Pharoah doing Denzel doing Alonzo from Training Day doing Eddard:

“Okaye, okaye. You gonna bust your cherry killing The Hand?” He puts The Hand pin back on. “There it is Joff. Hit me. I don’t think you’ve got it in you.” He reaches toward his sword but grabs and lights a cigarette instead. “You know where they send bastards, boy? The Wall. That’s right. You illegitimate, fool ass, incestuous bitch made punk. You think you can do this to me?! Who do you think your f—ing with!? I’m The Hand, Lord of Winterfell, Warden of the North, Protector of the Realm! I run shit here! KING AEGON AIN’T GOT SHIT ON ME!!”

    Dynasty9,

‘The Pointy End’ is the name of the comic series WiC is doing. It’s the first link in the new quick hits that these comments are linked too and obviously it’s named after Arya’s first sword lesson from Jon Snow ‘Stick em with the pointy end.” :)

Fun little predicted fan-reaction of episode 8. (Although that should be 9 right?).

And here is a more artsy video of the show, awesomely done I must say. (The poster has a lot more artsy GoT videos on her/his channel)

Edit: Also, this piano video someone uploaded.

    Winter Is Coming,

Actually the interview with Emilia was taken in English, so in fact it is _translated_ to Hungarian. (I know, I did the translation ;))

And also, stay tuned to our interview with the magnificent Miltos Yerolemou, online next Tuesday ;)

Yes I posted links to the Gillen interviews on an earlier thread – thanks for highlighting them here. He auditioned for the role, which he only does less than half the time now, cos he really wanted to play it.

I just went straight for the Masie-interview. Seems i’m becoming a fan. Is it just too nerdy to think it’s kinda cool that she is a bit of a tomboy like her character?

Was anyone really complaining about her not using her left hand ALL the time? She seemed a little bit upset about not being able to do that. Sure as hell wasn’t a problem for me.

Also, GRRM posted a little note on ‘his’ episode of tonight…

    Tar Kidho,

Haha I wasn’t thinking about that but it’s also true!
No, I meant if we compare him when he is in front of the cameras for acting and when he has to talk to the camera by himself, he really change and looks shy in that last case!
