Saturday’s GoT Laughs: Team Lannister

Let’s start this new series of posts with the only appropriate opener:

And now the tune by Less Talk more Monkey that Dinklage might be whistling to himself these days (which incidentaly is also a favourite of Nikolaj Coster-Waldau himself, no kidding). If you missed this video, well … you shouldn’t have!

Hear Me Roar: We plan to reserve Saturdays to some good ol’ Game of Thrones fun. Mostly in the form of images making rounds on ‘teh interwebz’, but also some videos, parodies, and what not, including our very own exclusive comic strip by Mike Rosenzweig, The Pointy End.

    Unless something changes, I don’t think you will be seeing one anytime in the foreseeable future. Let’s go down the list, shall we?

    Rickard (Ned’s dad): Burned alive by the mad king.
    Brandon (Ned’s bro): Strangled to death trying to save his father.
    Eddard: Lost his head to the inbred boy king Joffrey.
    Robb: Betrayed and murdered at the Red Wedding by Roose Bolton and the Freys. Body is desecrated.
    Catelyn: Murdered next to her son at the Red Wedding. Body is stripped and thrown into a river, and transformed into a zombie by Beric Dondarrion.
    Sansa: Held hostage and beaten by Joffrey.
    Arya: Nearly killed several times. Becomes a servant, then a hostage, and is now training as an assassin across the narrow sea.
    Bran: Escaped Theon Turncloak and fled north of the Wall. Is taken in by an undead corpse who lives in the root system of a weirwood tree.
    Rickon: Escaped Theon only to disappear with Osha.
    Winterfell: Razed by Ramsay Bolton, and burned to a shell of its former self. Now belongs to Ramsay Bolton via his marriage to fake Arya.

    So, yeah. It doesn’t feel good to be a Direwolf.

    Love it! I’ve recently started watching The Wire and am on season 3 now. Of course that gives me the opposite issue from most people when it comes to Aidan Gillen…whenever he shows up in The Wire I go “Littlefinger!” where most fans of both shows would probably say “Carcetti!” in GoT :P

    Has there been any word on whether or not HBO will show a little preview for season 2 before Boardwalk Empires season 2 premiere.     No word at this point, so doubtful. Possibly some quick glimpses during the Boardwalk Premiere, but most likely they will debut the new trailer towards the end of BE season.

    Tywin Lannister: Killed by his own son
    Jaime Lannister: Has his hand cut off and might be lead to his death by someone he trusts
    Cersei Lannister: Imprisoned and puclically humiliated
    Kevan Lannister: Killed by a eununch
    Lancel Lannister: Heavilly wounded in battle
    Tyrion Lannister: Has his nose sliced off and currently on the run

    So in the end I guess it doesn’t feel good to be a Lannister either.

    Parts of the GOT panel from Titan-Con. A bit of it is about season two. I would say that there are no spoilers in it. But there are hints referring to later seasons! So if you want to start downright clueless into next season stay away. ;-)

    I watched the Red Riding trilogy on Netflix streaming and a lot of the time I couldn’t understand what anyone was saying. I really wish they would have had subtitles for that. Yes, Sean Bean played a real disgusting person in the first movie. And I absolutely couldn’t believe he got away with what he did for so long. It’s almost like he was living in amoral Westeros land there.

    Oh yes, I forgot that Mark Addy was in the last movie. He played a real hero in that one, if I recall.

    Yes, the only hero, he´s the lawyer who saves the last girl. “I´m a soul man, myself”… King Robert said while smoking a joint… A king has his vices, no matter the century.
    In one shot on the streets, I saw a graffiti: “Fuck de argies”… I´m Argentine so that made me laugh. I wonder if that will be written there from the war in 1983?
