  • A new Making Game of Thrones post that introduces us to stand-in and trainee DA, Graeme Livingston. Graeme drops this teaser about season two: “There’s been quite a lot of sword fighting in this season, a lot more than last one. There’s a lot more combat. Anything with a sword fight keeps me happy. And a bit of blood.”
  • A short interview with Julian Glover, who plays Grand Maester Pycelle, has been posted over at GameofThrones.hu. Something I found interesting: not only has he not read the books, but he’s only seen the first three episodes. Read the interview for more, but be warned that there are some spoilers in regards to Pycelle’s plot in season two.
  • USA Today published a recent article and video on the various Thrones-related video games in development. In addition to the Cyanide RPG, there is also a free-to-play MMO being developed by Bigpoint and a social networking game (think FarmVille) in the works, developer unknown. The Cyanide RPG, which appears to be titled simply Game of Thrones, will be published by Atlus on March 6th in the US for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and the PC. Atlus has launched an official website and has even begun accepting pre-orders for the game.
  • There are a couple of upcoming events where Thrones fans will be able to meet-and-greet some of the cast. First, the Winter Memorabilia Show at NEC Birmingham on Nov 19-20 will have a signing with Finn Jones (Loras Tyrell), Roxanne McKee (Doreah), James Cosmo (Old Bear Mormont), Miltos Yerolemou (Syrio Forel) and Spencer Wilding (White Walker). Then there is ThroneCon, which will also be held in Birmingham on Feb 10-12, with the currently announced guests of Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister).
  • If you feel that HBO’s official Game of Thrones shop doesn’t have enough merchandise, than you will be happy to know that HBO has announced a partnership with Dark Horse to produce even MORE Thrones memorabilia and merchandise. Keep making that money, HBO!
  • Lastly, Game of Thrones has been nominated for a People’s Choice Award in the category of Favorite Cable TV Drama. You can vote as many times as you want, so vote early and often! Winners will be announced in a live broadcast on Jan 11 on CBS.

Nice interview with Julian Glover – nearly every actor has their own way of doing things!

Still says Massie/Masie on my monitor, hahaha. Poor Maisie.

EDIT – WHOAAAAAAAH Bruce Boxleitner, Alice Krige, Fenella Fielding, and a ton of Captain Kronos peeps? I wish I went to more conventions : (

Oh dear, more memorabilia is a bad thing. I’m already broke and lusting over the store contents!
I demand a shot glass for every house!!! Even crappy houses like Florent.

If only they shipped stuff to the countries that aren’t USA, UK and Ireland…

    Ivan Popić,

Dark Horse merchandise ships all the way down to local retailers. Ask at your nearest shop that sells anything Dark Horse sells, or check appropriate internet sites.

(By appropriate I mean stores and sites that sell figures, figurines, comics, that sort of thing)

There’s also an even newer MGoT post than the one linked above.

That thing about Pycelle is hilarious. Only the first three episodes??

I remember Lena Headey got a lot of crap from fans for not reading the books. Somehow, I have a feeling they’ll go easier on Julian. It’s just Pycelle, after all. But I can imagine, if Jack Gleeson ever admits he hasn’t read the books…

Rot in hell you arrogant Lannister bastards!

(That was sarcasm, by the way, in case you can’t read facial expressions and hear the tone of my voice through your computer. So fret not, I wish no ill-will upon young Mr. Gleeson. He’s a terrific actor, actually. I think he’s a bit underrated because of all the other kids on the show, but he’s really brought King Joffrey to life, IMO… Let’s just hope he’s read the books, for his sake).

For those who don’t know, Starfury cons (Throne Con) are a blast. Lots of talks and signings as expected, but the parties are fantastic. Loads of people go just for the parties and awesome DJs, so it is well worth attending if you are a party animal and a fan. Of course, this means Throne Con and Eastercon within two months of each other. It never rains when it can pour great torrents of acid rain!

It looks like George RR Martin is talking to @Agent_M (Ryan Penagos, Editorial director of Marvel.com)

    @Agent_M: I’m on the phone with George R. R. Martin. He’s a lovely fellow!

Don’t know if this means anything…Dunk and Egg maybe?

I had already written off any GoT videogame. But seeing Altus is involved woth one of them actually makes me kind of excited. Of course March 6th is way to close to Mass Effect 3 for me to give any other game any attention. But we will see…at least I don’t expect an absolute crap game now.
