Icelandic news report gives us our first glimpse of Ygritte

The Icelandic National Broadcasting Service aired a report from the set of Game of Thrones the other day that was posted online yesterday but then removed soon after. But now the video has found its way to YouTube, uploaded by user gunnarahlidarenda (thanks to Tumblr of Thrones for the heads up). The video goes over much of the same stuff that the previous Iceland reports did, but it does give us our first glimpse at Rose Leslie in costume as Ygritte (at the 6:34 mark). Check it out!

Winter Is Coming: A bit blurry, but from what I can tell, Ygritte looks awesome. She seems much more put together than the other wildling characters, which is probably a good thing.

Looks like Ygritte has her hands tied and Jon is holding the other end of the rope. So can we assume that this is the scene where he’s supposed to execute her and let’s her go instead?

Also I think 4:26 to 4:28 – in costume but not in scene – right of frame with red scarf.

    And it was confirmed here:-

That the Ygritte shots were the reason that the clip got pulled.

    Elena Amici,

I think they said something more like that every scene is about 5 min long, but that doesn’t mean that there’s only one scene per episode.

I hope it won’t be only 5 minutes per episode, that would be disappointing. And it seems they will introduce Ygritte pretty early. Either they will add some stuff or move some scenes from ASoS. Can’t wait to see how it will play out.

well she appears in chapter 52, which is about 2/3 of the book. Considering they’ll also film a bit of aSoS for season 2 it’s not that strange.

    Winter Is Coming,

“They were very clear instructions as other media that might not show this character,” says Snorri Thorisson, owner of Pegasus. The wall, the cultural dimension of Devil’s Island Shooting Game of Throne in this country could see a break character from another series of factors which manufacturers components were explicitly prohibited to be used in the Icelandic media coverage.

Look it was a military secret and is not a detailed here, but Snorri says he is unhappy with this playback. “There was nothing in writing, it was just heathens agreement. Of course, this is something we can not do anything out of it but I’m going to talk about this with people at the National Broadcasting Service, it was absolutely forbidden. ”

Snoop Gunnarsson, editor of the episode, says this means a mistake, said a person was seen in two wide shots. “The show was immediately removed from the network until we had to correct this. We just saw the shot that we are terribly over this way. I’ve been involved with Snorri and I’m sad because I will not respond to him. ”
Snorri says everything else has gone smoothly. Shooting team had a day off on Tuesday and then swallowed down the snow. “But now is made to remove all barriers and we are here in Cape slope in cream friendliness,” says Snorri the shooting team, but of foreign workers, 11th in December.

Yeah google translator makes quite a mess, but icelandic grammar is quite more complicated than the english one.

    Here you go Winter!

“They got clear instructions, just as other media did, to not air this character”, said Snorri owner of Pegasus. In the cultural television program Djöflaeyjan (The Devil’s Island) you could see a glimpse of a character from season 2 of Game of Thrones which the producers had stricly forbidden to be used in icelandic media coverage.

Her looks were top secret and Snorri says he is unhappy about this. “There was no written agreement, just a verbal ‘gentlemen’ agreement. Of course there is nothing we can do about it now but I will be talking to the people at RUV (national broadcasting television), this was strictly forbidden.”

Þórhallur Gunnarsson, editor of the show, says this is a unfortunate mistake. “The program was immediately taken of the web until we were able to fix it. We just missed these shots and we feel terrible about this. I have spoken with Snorri and I feel bad about this because I don’t want to let him down.”
Snorri says that everything else has worked out well. The crew had a day off on tuesday and then there was a lot of snowing. “But now the roads have been cleared and we are here at Höfðabrekku in excellent weather conditions” says Snorri. The crew departes from Iceland on 11. december

Since they have north of the wall stuff in episodes 7, 8 and 10, I think introducing Ygritte in episode 7 would make sense.
Episode 7 - Ygritte gets captured and freed.
Episode 8 – Jon discovers those nasty things in the northeners army and flees.
    Episode 10 – qhorin action.

Hmm, I wonder if they might drag the Ygritte/Jon storyline of A clash of kings out a bit. She barely features in ACOK, and i think it might be beneficial to include a bit more of their blooming romance. Maybe Jon will drag her along with them for a while. Why would he, though? I dunno….

    Knurk,

Considering that Blackwater is episode 9, I don’t know what scenes from SoS they will put in S2 ( except maybe some Jaime stuff). Just finished my reread of ACOK. After blackwater they have but one episode for Joff accepting the Tyrells, Tyrion awakening,Arya fleeing Harrenhall, Jon meeting Rattleshirt Dany meeing Arstan and Bran leaving Winterfell…. I don’t think they can put much stuff from book three in there as well…
