    Those were pretty awful, but it was worth it for all the links in the comments. Much better showing there today, I must say.

    By the way, the 16-bit spoof is terrific. I love the bit with Ned guessing Joffrey’s parents. And the self-deprecating bit about running out of budget.

    Correct me if I’m wrong, but the Saturday laughs have always been about the comments, and people sharing videos/pictures. The Jamie character development one is fantastic, but is wroth with as many spoilers as four seconds can hold.

    Pretty sure that 16bit parody was posted by the blog already, and was one of the first Sat laugh. Keep up the good work WiC, I think the Sat laughs can be a clutch way to carry us into season 2.

    You guys have some pretty high standards for user created comedy. I finally watched the first video, and thought it was pretty funny. Wasn’t expecting what I got, but the old school adidas everywhere should have tipped me off. Not to sure about the second one, it was watchable, but the plea at the end made them sound pretty desperate for cash.

    The You Win or You Die is hauntingly beautiful and my favourite. It doesn’t fit in the humour category, though. This “produced” version is new to me! I think we can embed it in the next Quick Hits post. Winter?

    I actually really dislike that video… because of the line about Joffrey (a child barely grown). It makes him look like he’s some kind of angelic child! Also, the lyrics get stuck in my head and ruin the real theme song.

    I have terribly high standards for humor, actually. And I do mean terribly. It’s a curse. And of course ‘high’ is subjective. But yes, I have the curse of finding a great many lower-brow things quite unfunny. It’s unfortunate and it gets me in all sorts of trouble among friends so rest assured, this post is not done in gloating.

    I did find the quick Joffrey comic last week quite hilarious though. I think I have a soft spot for dark humor. No wonder I enjoy Tyrion.

    Did anyone else catch the new behind the scenes bit on HBO last night? I caught it midway through so missed the beginning but it definitely seemed different than previous spots. Interview footage with NCW (Jaime) and Benioff, footage of the priest walking on the beach, etc. Seemed like it might have been part of “The Buzz”. Aired right before the 8:00 movie.

    The video is posted by the guys from “Loading, Ready, Run”, a group who do amusing web videos of various sorts, from news satire, to skit comedy. A decent proportion of their stuff is video-game related.
    Desert Bus is a truly awful video game, in which you drive a bus on an overnight trip from Las Vegas to some other city in the US I can’t think of. The road between one city and the other is perfectly straight, but the bus doesn’t drive straight, it constantly pulls a little to the left, so the player needs to adjust it. It takes about 10 hours of continuous play to get from Las Vegas to the destination. If you do, the bus turns around and you drive back again. You continue doing this until you crash.
    Every year, the Loading, Ready, Run Guys do “Desert Bus for Hope”, in which they play Desert Bus in shifts, non stop, for as long as people watching their stream donate money – each dollar donated adds some value to their total play time. As just watching them play Desert Bus would be boring, people who donate can request things for them to do.
    All money raised by Desert Bus for Hope is donated to Child’s Play, a charity set up by the guys at Penny Arcade which provides video games and toys to Children’s hospitals around the world
