More from Dinklage on his Globes win

Here are two videos of Peter Dinklage talking about his Golden Globes win, one with the press backstage and one with Access Hollywood.

Access Hollywood also caught up with Peter on the red carpet, where he talked about the loyal fans and what to expect in season two.

And be sure to check our Tumblr for more photos from last night, including pics from HBO’s Post Golden Globes Party.

Winter Is Coming: Peter just looks so awkward whenever he has to speak in front of a crowd. But that’s what makes him so endearing!

Wow, that first question in the first video is painfully bad.

No wonder Dinklage gets paid to stand there and answer the stupid questions.

I think the one thing everyone can take away from this, even if you don’t give a fig for the Globes, is it’s more exposure and good press for the show.

Yeah, the most important thing that actually happened last night was Peter bringing attention to Martin Henderson’s plight. The HFPA is a total joke, but its still great to see Peter get acknowledged and, as you said, bring more awareness to the character and the show.

@WIJB, hahaha, with your rampant insanity I would’ve certainly pegged you as a Xenu worshiper!

Wow does NO ONE have a good question for Peter to answer? It’s just sloppy journalism all around. So glad he won though!

I see that this has prompted another sale up on hbo (“take 20% off the Game of Thrones Season 1 DVD and more merchandise at the HBO Shop”).

But HBO isn’t selling copies with the awesome Stark DVD cases. And that blue stripe at the top of the Blu-ray case just isn’t nearly as classy…

Access Hollywood… making a comment about his hair? Seriously? Or is this some kind of subtle running gag I didn’t get?
    “Peter, your hair looks fantastic”.
Most retarded interview comment I’ve ever heard :D

I think people didn’t have “good” questions because they weren’t expecting him to win, actually. which is sad. but that’s speaking from a “press conference” point of view, imo. the babysitter question would be a cool one to make during a one-on-one interview, more personal and stuff.

anyways, what matters is the show gets more attention!
    and kudos, Peter D!

EDIT: oh, except for the Holywood Access one. that was absurdly lame! u.u”

    Thiago Slash,

I was watching a few of those backstage press Q&As and very few people got “good” questions.

At least they knew who Peter was, when the Homeland Cast and Crew were there someone wanted to ask “Miranda” a question, it took a moment for people to realise the reporter meant Morena Baccarin.

Discussed this with a fellow fan the other day and we both agreed that, and no disrespect to mr Dinklage, it is all a bit unfair. The role of Tyrion Lannister is fairly “easy”. Gets great lines, fun scenes and all that. Many actors and especially Mark Addy deserve an award so much more for brilliant acting. Still, mad gratz to Dinklage. But come one. Mark Addy did an amazing job with Robert Baratheon. And other actors and actresses also acted their guts out for this show yet it seems only Dinklage is getting recognized.
    Anyway!

    Slynt,

yeah, i understand. I’m not loving PD that much, simply because he’s.. well, he’s tyrion.
But, I can also say that PD made me almost like Tyrion, which i usually hate, and he really is good. (although it’s easy to like S1 tyrion).
Anyway I agree that he shouldn’t be the only actor getting awards (two words: Emilia. Clarke. C’mon, Hollywood!) but i’m not complaining either

    Who Is Jacopo Belbo?,

buhahah, win. GG is the most self-congratulatory, posh and stupid award show – i think i like the AA more. Also, it looks like the night was awfully boring and the opening monologue wasn’t even funny. Can they call Neil Patrick Harris to host next year? Please?

really? /o/ shame on them! I mean, Morena was already on the spotlight due to V!
and more shame on them, if none of the other questions was good. (I actually went to bed after Peter won, so the only thing I’d seen until today was his speech)

    I agree with you, partially.
Tyrion may not be the most difficult character of the books, but Peter did an awesome job delivering him to the screen. He improved Tyrion, imo (even if his eyes are not mismatched, =P).
but hell yeah, Mark Addy did an outstanding job! The new (not in the book) scenes featuring him were simply awesome! I wish he’d got more recognition too. And so I did with Michelle Fairley, Jack Gleeson (bloody hell, it may be better for me not to stumble upon him anytime soon. the kid was such a marvelously hateful Joffrey that I could slap him in the face!), Aidan Gillen, James Cosmo, Lena Hadley, Alfie Allen (can’t wait to see him on S2! hell, in S3-4 too!), Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner (Sansa’s role may suck in S1, but she delivered it perfectly), Harry Lloyd.. I could go on, but you got the point, I think.

My hope is that, with the upcoming seasons, GoT gains morre attention, and the other actors and actresses have their moment in the spotlight!

I agree with most of the comments. The Globes are “meh”, the questions asked were not worthy of grade-d journalists and while I am very happy for PD winning the Globe I agree Mark Addy, Sean Bean, Michelle Fairley and so many other cast members deserve recognition (and awards). Ah well, can’t have it all. Main thing is the extra exposure/promotion, which never hurts I guess. With fantasty shows traditionally being shoved to the gutter in all these award giveaways, GoT did remarkably well (and 1st season, even better). As a side note: Emilia Clarke puts all the other women there to shame. What a natural beauty, as well as an extremely talented young actress! And Raimin Djawadi seems like a great guy, as well as a great artist and musician.

Udi: Emilia Clarke puts all the other women there to shame.

That’s like your opinion man. But I will spare you my opinion because she’s practically an innocent.

I recently saw a glimpse of our pilot Dany in Mystery of Drood; exceedingly beautiful and getting great parts.

Hmmm.. what else can be said? Golden Globes is the best, most prestigious awards blah on TV, directly behind Spike TV’s Scream awards. It features blah and the blabla will subscribe to HBO thanks to another win by Dinklage. GG; What an awful gag! What glittering madness seething with false beautiful smiles! It’s enough to make one disgusted by the blah and change the channel. Makes me question the dignity of the blah who show up to that prevailing circus. Thumbs up to Woody Allan for winning another award he again did not show up to blah.

I was happy to see Laura Dern win an award even if Enlightened isn’t my cup of tea; she is surprisingly good in it. I tuned out during her terribly heartfelt, boring acceptance speech so thanks for posting the Dinklage win.

I don’t think Peter Dinklage is awkward at all…on the contrary, he is a good sport by sitting through those idiotic interviews and being asked the most inane and stupid questions, as witnessed in his painful encounter with that lady on the red carpet and Billy “My-Hair-Has-A-Higher-IQ-Than-ME” Bush (are we sure this guys isn’t related to W. and the rest of the Bush Klan)!

It’s hard not to be uncomfortable when you are surrounded by so many imbeciles and morons…but I give kudos to Peter for taking it all in stride…
