Here is our latest WinterIsComing.net t-shirt design, created by our very own We Do Not Sow. I’m calling it… Sam the Wizard.
We’re opening up pre-orders for the shirt now. It’s available in both men’s and women’s sizes.
Also here are our plans for the merch shop going forward… since I don’t have a ton of money to invest in it, we will only be ordering and selling limited quantities of merchandise. Every time there is a new shirt, we’ll notify everyone, open it up for pre-orders, place an order that will cover the pre-orders plus a few extra. We’ll then ship out the pre-orders and the remaining quantity will be for sale on a first come, first serve basis. After a design is sold out, that’s it. So if you see a design you like, be sure to snag it as soon as you can!

There’s not much to get, it’s a direct quote from the show as mouthed by Samwise Gamgee. Then Jon laughs spastically because it’s funny. I like the drawing of Sam. Did anonymous draw that? Why does he have to be named We Do Not Sow? Isn’t he a real person? I like the snowflake touch even if personally it invokes E Pluribus Anus slightness ;) Go Human Beings!

Winter, your link leads not to HBO but to a shady website (so I’m told by my web of trust add-on), so best correct that before people get infected by malware or something…
(I spent last week cleaning my computer from a variety of nasty rootkit virusses so I’m slightly paranoid at the moment for any website I don’t trust!)

I actually like it that the connection with the show is only obvious to fans, but I don’t want to go walking around with a shirt that people will assume is related to HP. (no, I’m not really a fan of HP…)
Btw, I also didn’t find that line particularly funny in the show, but I think it’s a great line for on a t-shirt.

Or you could just stop clicking on it and move on. Sometimes links go wonky, it happens. This is the HBO store which has all the house logos and several other options on shirts.

Yes, but I always thought there was something more to it. I remember the episode and when Sam Tarly delivered that line, but why was it received with such fanfare?
I thought maybe it was a reference to this actor playing a wizard in a previous role, so it came off as an inside joke among fans.

I appreciate your warning. My virus protection also flagged and blocked that aspect of the WIC page and I don’t believe it’s ever done that before. Sometimes links or ads will have shady attachments of some sort.

Winter, the link in your reply in this thread is now still the correct one, but just like Mimsy (thanx for the thumbs up btw Mimsy), my anti-malware again flagged and blocked an outgoing connection to said website. I can’t compare it to the link from the sidebar ad since I use AdBlock Plus, but as Mimsy said, it could just be connected to an ad or something? (I was concerned that something might have infected your own computer or the website’s server)
Further OT: if anyone wants to rescue their terminally ill computer from malware, my experience last week has taught me that the little-known Emsisoft Anti-Malware is better than the combined efforts of Kaspersky’s TDSSKiller + Virus Removal Tool, Malwarebytes, AVG Free, Norton Internet Security and a couple other tools. But I promise that’s the last thing I share about malware :-)
Back on-topic: just wanted to say that from previous discussions I know there’s a lot of Wicnetters out there that like both GoT and HP, so I still think this is a very nice design!

Ok, I’ll try again to explain one final time for the ones that still didn’t get it: at the time of my first alert, the link in Winter’s comment didn’t lead to the official HBO shop but to the website “tkqlhce.com” (also when just hovering the mouse cursor above the link to check what Firefox read as the url). Afterwards, and also indicated by Mimsy, our anti-malware programs flagged and blocked an automatic outgoing link to that same page when loading the main page. As you can read on this informative website, that website is known to be a distributor of malware. If you still don’t understand it or want to test your antivirus’s effectiveness, please be my guest and navigate to tkqlhce.com, but don’t complain if your computer develops more than just a runny nose.
In the end I’m really disappointed by the negative reactions I got here for trying to help. Looks like some people have forgotten about the words Always Support the Bottom…

I’m not getting any more wonky warnings from this site, so I’m glad about that! I always appreciate any warnings given about links even though they may not turn out to be an actual threat. My puter has crashed and burned before from a trusted site (too many ads w/ who knows what attached) and it was a pain in the arse.. let me tell you. grrr The internet is full of land mines.
The t-shirt idea is awesome and I love that pic of Sam. ha ha! It did remind me of Potter though. .. still cute.
