That shot of Doreah looking at Dany’s dragon at 18:50 is so cool. Remember how eager she was to see a dragon in Season 1? Aw.

And I think I see Rakharo behind her!

Nothing has gotten me more excited than this featurette. I’m jumping with joy after seeing all of the actors talk up a show that they’re obviously proud of. They know that people are interested in the process of adaptation from page to screen, and they DELIVERED!

Just a lot of the same stuff we’ve seen a million times. They do a good job of recapping and explaining the story for someone who hasn’t seen the show.
NCW looks great in his suit, and Emelia is stunning.

Well it’s part of their contracts…I’ve seen actors talk as if a movie they just released was the 8th wonder when (even they knew) it was a piece of crap ;)

PS: Wich is not the case here! I mean, the show is fantastic, but if one of them thought the show was crap, you could not tell…that’s why they are actors ;)

You can always tell when they REALLY feel it though. There’s paying lip-service to the thing that is making you money, and there’s just sheer enthusiasm for your show, Emilia Clarke is such a good example of this, you can really tell she loves this show and the book series. I also don’t remember ever seeing someone like Jason Momoa turn loads of his Conan interviews into talking about how much he loves GoT. My favourite is on Hitfix where they just ended up calling the interview ‘Conan’s’ Jason Momoa can’t stop talking about ‘Game of Thrones’

    Okay, that was awesome…

It was more like a recap of what happened is season one, there was some new CGI footage shown of both Drogon and Greywind.

Both the CGI looked top notch IMO. This new season is going to be so epic!

D&D are so brilliant for bringing this to HBO.

I have no worries or concerns about CGI anymore.

I’m extremely excited to see how they manage to bring additional characters into the show this year whilst keeping the narrative easy to follow. The scary thing in having 20 or so major characters is that either some will feel left out or things will get confusing for people who did not read the books.

I hope that they figure out a way to give everyone their due screen time and keep things flowing the right way.

If you remove the trailer which has been out for weeks, I think the credit roll was longer than the Season 2 footage!

With the BD and DVD sets just being out a month I know I have seen more than my share of Season 1 footage and did not need so much time spent on Season 1….

That said, I always like the interview snippets and Season 2 looks to be incredible!

So what if I was excited that Greywind had fangs. This is the first time we see him in a real growl. Sorry for being excited and commenting about it. That and Drogon were the only significant new footage shown. The rest were the actors talking up season 2. I don’t know how pointing that out suddenly makes me a target for criticism. Maybe some people carry grudges from prior posts? Oh well, I really don’t care.

That was absolutely fantastic. I think it was the perfect amount of new footage because the premiere is but a week away and there’s no reason to spoil too much with such short a wait.

The CGI shots look far better than my expectations, which is the biggest thing I take from this. If all the CGI looks as good as this seemed to do (Youtube quality isn’t perfect even in HD) then this show will look better than most movies.

So this isn’t about the video above but about the blu-ray and DVD sales figures for Game of Thrones S1. I’m not sure where that 350000 number came from previously but it didn’t make much sense to me, especially because Game of Thrones reportedly had 76% of the sales that Immortals did – and Immortals was on track to be the best-selling disc of 2012 so far (of which 460000 total discs would be a paltry number that’s not even close). Also, the quote from HBO about being the all-time bestselling disc for them ever in first week sales didn’t seem to jive with that either…

    Anyway, from The Numbers:

For the week ending March 11:
    GOT BLU-RAY SALES: 680000 units / Sales: $29.89 million
GOT DVD SALES: 517860 units / Sales: $17.60 million
    http://www.the-numbers.com/interactive/newsStory.php?newsID=7129

=1.2 MILLION DISCS SOLD. That’s a far better number and makes a lot more sense. Also, their sales numbers are awesome! In just the first week alone, they’ve covered the majority of their first season budget. So I think it’s safe to say we’ll definitely see Storm of Swords onscreen and hopefully even get another little budget bump for that season!

I’d also like to add that they apparently broke even on the series before it ever started airing, the money paid to HBO by foreign networks for the rights to show it are the highest HBO have ever had for a show, it was double what they got per episode of The Sopranos, so I think there’s a very good chance that GoT will go the distance, my only concern is them potentially overtaking the books.

How awesome is that Hound helmet?! It’s just so cool. I can just imagine a mountain of a man wearing that in battle coming at me.. I’d turn tail and get the heck out of there! lol

Margaery looks incredibly devious! It looks like her tv character is going to be an in your face back stabber.. while in the books… she played the innocent “who me” card. I’m thinking I’m going to like this Margaery.. and love to hate her. :)

Seems very small to be the actual castle of Dragonstone.

I would guess the actual Island of Dragonstone is the land in the foreground with the Keep above and behind the camera.

What’s in the distance is just a rocky island that has a Dragon carved out of it (to guard the approach to Dragonstone itself maybe).

Just realised that Arya shot at 17:02 is filmed at the Dark Hedges, I thought that would end up being part of the Kings Road.

    poguemahone: She’s… smiling?
