HBO revealed six character posters on their Facebook page the other day. Here is Robb, for starters, the rest are after the jump.
At the same time, the character pages on HBO’s website have likewise been updated with new players of the Game.
Hear Me Roar: I like these posters a lot, even more than the ones from last year, great design (and better quotes). Let them serve as an awesome intro to Game of Thrones Day. Happy April 1st, everyone!

What about Ros?

Cersei’s quote is pretty weak. Love Robb’s and Jaime’s though.

Beneh,
lmao Ros..

Cersei looks absolutely stunning, have they photoshopped her eyebrow?
KnurkQuote Reply
I guess they had a problem with the Margaery poster because …
Natalie Dormer is so hot that if her picture was on a poster it would spontaneously combust.
So, it must have been safety thing.
Less than 12 hours.

Drew,
what’s funny? Why didn’t Ros get a poster? she has more screen time than Dany and she’s played by a better actress!
HERP-DERPQuote Reply
Agreed, on Cersei’s quote.

Not Today,
Haha! I was actually just thinking that they chose a good quote for her!
Tyrion’s on the other hand… Meh. It’s a good line, and I guess I can see why they chose it, but… meh. It just does nothing for me.

No Arya? Love everyone’s quotes, especially Jon Snow.
@Beneh … Ros …LOL. That would be a great April Fool’s joke from HBO but my head might pop!

Why aren’t Margaery and Loras on HBO’s character page??

I wish they would have made posters for some of the new characters like Stannis or Brienne!

Photoshop much?

These were magazine ads that they’ve posted on facebook now, so there aren’t ‘character posters’ for everyone- just the main actors that were getting a lot of press, as we’ve seen.

These are great. I especially like Jon’s, Dany’s, and Robbs’ posters/quotes. I can’t believe season 2 premiers TONIGHT! So awesome. Now I’m just hoping Comcast doesn’t bug out as it has been doing lately. -_-

Jaime’s is clearly the best.
Jaime LannisterQuote Reply
Why does Jons quote seem so bland and cliché. It should by all means rock my pants but somehow in there it just feels too fantasy, maybe it’s the overly dramatic face. Also bit too much photoshop for my taste. Not horrible but could do little less color overlay. Though I like the idea of throne behind every character.

One of the review articles for GoT says that Richard Madden’s contract was supposedly given an extension to six years. Interesting! wonder is they make viewers believe one thing, then later in the season D&D pull a Spock.
tysnowQuote Reply
Sadly, I doubt that’s true. Unless, somehow Robb is alive…which would be the greatest thing ever, haha
JoshQuote Reply
The Cersei one could have been “Love is a poison”. We all now the rest of the quote. Paraphrasing here: “A sweet poison, but it will kill you all the same”
Also not in love with he Tyrion one. Remember it from the trailers. Is it in the book?
Not that that matters of course. Just curious. Though it does get one of the things across, that I liked about Clash of Kings. Tyrions handship acts as a parallel to Neds stint as hand. Here is a hand that is actually aware of how to play the Game of Thrones and is still kind of a almost good man, in his own douchy way. And he gets some things done. I don´t say he is perfect but he try to look out for the downthrodden, bacause he can identify with them. Atleast a little better than the other nobles. He does commit some horrible crimes. Singerstew anyone. But he has the courage to stand up to Joffrey and Cersei. Something that needed to be done. Something I think is interesting. Someone like Ned was ALL IDEALS, but didn´t accomplice much. Tyrion has a loser set of morals and got more things done. Tywin was even more scrupolous, and he was the greates hand in living memorie, also on the happy and rich peasents bottomline. But where should a ruler place him or herself on this curve? I think it is a concept that can apply directly to modern politicians. To gain or keep power, or get a law passed, they sometimes have to behave less than nice. Quite a tangent. Sorry about that:)
And I don´t care that much for the colours. It is not that I object to colours, and the posters aren´t bad, but I think it could have been done better. Look a little, for lack of a better word, photoshopped. Fanmade.

Josh,
It would be a most horrendous thing I could ever think and they should do some miracles to make me continue watching the series anymore after that.
No wait, I would still watch it but I would hate myself for it.
rorschach-Quote Reply
The quote I most associate with Cersei is “Everyone who is not us is the enemy,” or whatever it was.
For Tyrion, “All dwarves are bastards to their fathers,” or “I like living,” or the dying with a song in his heart one.
For Daenerys, “A dragon is not burned by fire.”
Sorry if I’ve mis-quoted. I really like the pictures.

lol no please. Richard Madden is hot as hell but Robb is such a dud imo. I mean, granted, he’s not a POV character so we don’t get to see him as much, and maybe D&D will change my opinion with the show (and the “love story” ugh… bleh). But I’d much rather focus on some of the other great characters…

I like the posters and all the edition, but the quotes don’t do much justice. Sound…meh. I can see they use the same that were in the trailers and posters are for the general audience, maybe that’s why it doesn’t sound anything special *puts hispter glasses* too mainstream.
lol jk, I love the posters but I can’t say I like the quotes in there…however, those quotes speak the truth. imo^^
Igor VelosoQuote Reply
I love the posters and I think the quotes give us a “surface level” view of that characters disposition in regards to their own personal role in the larger scheme of things. The quotes match that characters attitude wonderfully.
P.S. Please stop bringing up Ros. I want to be happy and focus on the 99% of the series I truly love and enjoy. I don’t want to get sick to my stomach, laterally, thinking of Ros…
ArthurQuote Reply
Shame it’s probably too late in the day now (though maybe depends where you are) but someone with greater photoshop skills than me could always make a Ros poster to quietly add to these :)
ShinyteapotQuote Reply
I think they may want to keep Brienne under wraps somewhat, so non readers will be surprised at her reveal.
LyingOnaBedofWeedsQuote Reply
LyingOnaBedofWeeds,
I agree, seems like HBO is going out of there way to keep Brienne a huge suprise to the TV viewer. Brienne is like their stealth bomber…
ArthurQuote Reply
I’m assuming thoase 16 names listed as cast are the ones in the opening credits. May I just say it’s a crying shame John Bradley isn’t among those! I mean Sam’s a POV character in the books! Also why is LF in the openig credits and not Varys who actually has a much bigger role this season? Finally why no Brienne? Also a POV character so also should be mentioned in the main cast imo.
Minor complaints I know, but still
WinterdarkQuote Reply
Arthur,
Arthur why is that? WHY DOES ROS MAKE YOU SICK! She’s the most beautiful whore that ever was.. perfect acting skills + jaw dropping beauty + occasionally naked = formula for perfect tv character! Not only that, but she also helps flesh out the story lines of numerous characters [including littlefinger, where in the books we had no access to his thoughts which made it extremely frustrating].. I think I may even cry when she dies at the end of episode 4…………………………………………….. ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… April Fools

Jess,
Yeah, I think Cat will get some cut, wich makes me really sad. Bad at the sime time, I think it’s smart to make him more important, because that would make the impact of the Red Wedding bigger, similar to Ned’s death

Ros’ poster should have her planted on the throne, legs wide apart (wearing a dress mind you!), leaning forward.. with the phrase “I know where Whores go.”
MimsyQuote Reply
Anvil,
Yes but neither are Cersei or LF or many of the main castmembers. Sam and Brienne however were major characters from the start and obviously groomed for POV.

Jess,
Robb is hardly my favorite character, though I do like him a great deal. It’s more about what he represents. So if he’s alive….the Starks might just win the war!
Oh if it isn’t happening the books, I don’t want it to happen. What I’m saying is…maybe that bit of news reveals something we don’t know about future books…which means good things for the Starks…which hasn’t happened since.. book 2 haha
JoshQuote Reply
Josh,
Maybe it means flashbacks? But I guess it’s only a habit of tv-series just to be sure that the actor is available if something happens. Failsafe.

Placement in credit has little to do with the size of a role, and a LOT to do with the negotiations of one’s agent and the contracts. It has nothing to do with book-role size or fairness.

Most of the main actors signed six season contracts. It’s a standard thing, iirc, so it probably means nothing in terms of his story.

Psh!! Robb is my favorite! I was pissed for like a week when I read the red wedding, but thats part of why I love this whole story. I’m not a book purist but, if they changed that I think it would be going a bit TOO far from the book. It’s a lot like Ned’s death, ya it has and is probably going to piss a lot of people off, but for the story to follow the general path that it needs to it can’t be changed. One of the main effects is that it throws the whole north into case and leaves them cut off from the rest of westeros.
