HBO has sent out a press release revealing the full lineup for the Game of Thrones panel at this year’s San Diego Comic Con.
Game of Thrones panel in Hall H will be moderated for the second year by George R.R. Martin. Martin is the author of the bestselling fantasy book series “A Song of Ice and Fire,” which the HBO drama is based on, and also serves as a co-executive producer on the series. The panel will include: Carolyn Strauss, executive producer of “Game of Thrones,” and cast members (in alphabetical order): Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark) and Richard Madden (Robb Stark). Executive producers David Benioff & D.B. Weiss will not be in attendance, as they are in production in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The official Comic Con site has listed the time for the panel as 2:45-3:45 PM PT on Friday, July 13. HBO tells fans to expect live coverage of the Thrones panel at HBO Connect and under the Twitter hashtag, #sdccgotfan.
Winter Is Coming: A good lineup! Mostly fresh faces, which should make for an interesting panel.

Good God I want to go to this panel.

Can’t wait to hear from Alfie & Richard.

Looks like they are filming Bran’s scenes, which means we should have Meera soon.

Why do you say that?

M,
You forgot to say “First!” Sheesh! ;)
Anyway, this panel should definitely bring the awesome, and I’m kind of expecting to see some casting announcements (maybe with a surprise appearance or two) to liven things up a bit. Wish I could go.

My Twitter timeline is already soaked with the bitter, bitter tears of those who were hoping to catch both the GOT and Firefly panels – an hour apart, and two different rooms. Oh, Comic Con. You are a harsh mistress.

So jealous of everyone that can go!

A live web cast? That’s awesome! Edit “coverage” could mean just twitter feeds. :(

Given his enthusiasm for Comic Con, I hope that the reason Liam Cunningham will not being in attendance is that he’ll be in a dungeon taking reading lessons from Shireen instead. ;) Still, excited about Alfie, Richard and Michelle being there, should be a fun panel.
PS: Will European subscribers be able to access the live coverage at HBO Connect also? EDIT: nevermind, I read Winter’s response just now.

Glad Fairley and Madden get a shot to represent Thrones….
Am I the only one that thinks Jason Momoa should be on the panel every year?
If for no other reason to represent hte fans as he is such a fan of the sow! He was so fun last year and his energy will be missed most likely…
darquemodeQuote Reply
I don’t think so. I think it will just be a feed with the tweets that have the #sdccgotfan hashtag.

First, this sounds awesome, I really wish I could go. I swear, I’m definitely going next year. Well, I hope so.
Second, has anyone seen this yet? It’s awesome
PS: hello, WIC community! I think I’m back for good… I missed the 3 most awesomest months of the year, but on the other and I still have 9 episodes of GOT to watch to pass the time :)

seems awesome! I’m already counting on a good soul to film it and post it on youtube later hahaha

darquemode,
I agree. plus, he actually WAS on the show, even if for only a couple minutes (those were fierce minutes!)

Casting news, finally:

Now who is this ‘Myranda’ she is playing? I think she’s too young to play Myranda Royce, and we won’t see that character until season 4 or 5. So… Meera Reed? Mya Stone?

Looks like a great panel, but good luck getting in. The line for that will be five miles long. Now that GoT has entered the pop culture vernacular, it’s going to be a madhouse.
Varamyr FourskinsQuote Reply
Maybe not filming, but at least in pre-production, because none of Bran’s story group is at Comic con (No Hodor, Osha, Bran). It could just be coincidence though.
SuperdeluxeQuote Reply
Superdeluxe,
could be filming:
Arya and the Riverlands
Jaime and Brienne
Dragonstone
Tyrion, Varys, Littlefinger, Sansa and the Tyrells
Sam?
But hopefully it’s Bran meeting the Reeds

Although there probably wont be a live webcast, last year the full panel was up on youtube w/in a day or two. Sad I can’t make it back, last year was amazing (except the part where I didn’t get in line quick enough to ask my question).

No NCW or Gwendoline = :(

queenofthorns,
I know. :-( I’m so disappointed.

Oh OK. Actually Kristian Nairn just tweeted that he will be going to Comic Con, so looks like it was just coincidence.
Based on what roles they cast first and the recent tweet by Carice van Houten about heading to Dragonstone, I’m guessing they will be filming some Stannis stuff first.

Whoever wrote that press release should study alphabetical order.

Lest we forget, the epic facepalming of an entire panel in response to Jason’s statement that, “I love fantasy cuz you get to rip people’s throats out and rape beautiful women.”

Michelle Fairly’s enthusiasm for the show was quite lovely during previous interviews.
It would be a blast to have Maisie and Sophie in attendance and witness their
connections. Jason Momoa exuded energy among rather quiet cast panel members
from last year’s Comic Con. He’s a fan of the books and was chosen for audition in
part from Fan Sites like this one recommending him (according to GRRM ). Maybe
those living nearbyand without tickets can possibly ” warg” into a fly on the wall or
bedbug on a seat and send transmissions to WiC.

The mighty hodor,
Was ” Shadow baby ” supposed to resemble Stannis ?
WildSeedQuote Reply
Alfie, Kit and Rich, the hot trio. And kudo’s to Richard, who is apparently shy, for being willing to go sit in a big hall full of screaming fans. And i’m so happy that Michelle Fairly is going too. Be watching it on YouTube then (:

The Kingslayer,
Agreed. NCW is such a great person to interview (and seems like such a great person period). Can’t have it all I guess. Also, no Jason Momoa :(
UdiQuote Reply
Jason was at Collectormania Milton Keynes earlier this month and is in Melbourne Australia this weekend.

Someone better instruct Fairley how to not blab out spoilers during the panel.
KnurkQuote Reply
Walter_Eagle,
Apparently they were going with the common practice of “alphabetical order by first name.” Weird.
JohnQuote Reply
John,
They failed either way. Lena should not come before Kit.
Walter_EagleQuote Reply
Oh nice, Richard’s in this one. If the crowd doesn’t start chanting “The King in the North!”, I will be severely disappoint.
CharlesQuote Reply
Lena out due to scheduling conflict. Rose will take her place. Should make for some good fan questions with her and Kit on the panel. :)
