WiCnet Awards Season Two: Best Episode

It’s the return of the WiCnet Awards! We had a lot of fun with these awards last year and are bringing them back for season two. The idea behind them is give out awards for Game of Thrones as voted on by the ones who matter most: the fans. Each week, we will open up a new category for voting. These categories will range from traditional, like best actor or best supporting actress, to something more fun, like best one-liner or best scene stealer. The nominees have been carefully selected by the distinguished panel of myself, Hear Me Roar, Ours is the Fury and Fire and Blood, but it is up to the rest of the fans to decide the winner. Once all the votes in all the categories have been tallied, we will announce the winners in a fun and interactive live event.

So to kick things off we have the category of best episode. Our nominees for this category include all 10 episodes (the other categories will be restricted to 5 nominees). You have until next Friday to vote for your favorite episode of season two. After voting, feel free to share in the comments which episode you voted for and why.

Blackwater was probably the best episode of the series yet. But I think we have to realise that it was not a usual episode in terms of the locations visited since the whole ep took place near KL and Blackwater bay, and it covered a sole event The Battle.

As for the other 9 episodes which followed the ordinary pattern of covering several locations and story archs. I think A Man without Honor was the best.

I’ve watched all the episodes way too many times than is healthy. I gotta say that my favorite is still 206, “The Old Gods and the New.”

The opening scene of Theon taking Winterfell is in the running for the single greatest scene in the entire series. The emotionality is more devastating than even Ned’s execution–far more than I could have expected from the page. The acting is superb. Every shot, every beat.

Then in the rest of the episode the excitement, laughs and emotion don’t let up. From Jon’s first encounter with Ygritte (this is where Kit Harrington is really starting to come into his own and Rose Leslie is wonderful), to the King’s Landing riot, to the continued awesomeness that is Tywin and Arya at Harrenhal (better than the book), to something again better than the book with Dany’s political school of hard knocks and shock ending in Qarth.

It’s just this ideal balance of all the elements and I was sure of it as soon as the episode was done. Matter of fact Vanessa Taylor has written both this and the gruesome, intense episode 204, “Garden of Bones,” and since those are two of my favorites I hope her hand is on many more.

I adore many of the other episodes too (particular standouts I haven’t mentioned are also 202, 203 and of course what I expect to win which is 209, with almost none I think are below par the whole season) but, there’s my favorite.

Shit. Thanks for the reality check though. I’m familiar with Sorkin through The Social Network, but it was his television work (primarily Sports Night and The West Wing) that hooked me first, and after those, I figured Sorkin on HBO was all but assured to be great stuff.

Shame. I’m looking at a number of reviews, and none of them are particularly flattering. I’m still gonna check it out. Hopefully with lowered expectations I’m able to enjoy it for what it is…

I have to go with The Old Gods and The New, with Blackwater and a Man Without Honor close behind. Theon’s scenes, and Arya with Tywin, were both terrific. I’m really interested to know, if they are nominated for Emmys, which scenes they will choose to send in. Theon’s scene executing Ser Rodrik (as well as his scenes with Balon in other episodes) were all fantastic. And Arya with Tywin – wow. Why wasn’t Charles Dance nominated, I wonder? He’s be superb!

Blackwater was awesome television and Lena Heady and was particularly great in it, but IMO this doesn’t compare to the story-telling in the final episode. That one managed to bring tears to my eyes in two scenes, and it ended all story arcs (minus Jon’s…) in a very satisfying way: Tyrion shoved aside, Maester Luwin dying, Bran&co leaving a burnt-down Winterfell, Brienne’s tough side revealed, Robb breaking his promises and marrying,…… Valar Morghulis!

I thought the entire season was great, and also liked The Old Gods and the New, Valar Morghulis, etc… as some of you have mentioned. But the Blackwater episode may be some of the finest television programming ever produced. It was so unbelievably epic, I thought I was watching a big budget major motion picture, on par with the LOTR trilogy. Plus, with GRRM writing the screenplay, you can’t go wrong.

So, even though I can understand the arguments for the other episodes, I can’t imagine Blackwater not winning this thing.

In my opinion, for emotional content “What Is Dead May Never Die” would deserve to win, solely on the merits of Theon Greyjoy’s betrayal, in how it was handled. Alfie Allen is flawless this season. However, for overall production and impact in terms of good television, “Blackwater” earns my vote for best episode this season.

What Is Dead May Never Die

Blackwater is the prom queen in a room with 9 geeks, but I gotta go with geek #3. I give it props for being head and shoulders above the rest of the early season episodes. There’s really nothing to complain about with it, without really getting nitpicky. It completely rehabilitated two characters from season 1, Renly and Loras, which the following episodes desperately needed. I can find things to pick apart much more easily with Blackwater.

Blackwater. Do I really need an explanation? I think it’s pretty obvious, the episode was fantastic! Ah, what the hell, I’ll attempt to explain why I voted for this episode. Basically, I was blown away (just like part of Stannis’ fleet :P). I think this episode has some of the best acting in it. Cersei, Sansa, Stannis, Tyrion, The Hound, Bronn, they kept stealing the spotlight from each other, it was amazing. The wildfire looked absolutely amazing, all of the special effects were flawless and for once, the storyline didn’t feel stretched. Since there are a lot of characters and they need to focus on all of them, sometimes the storylines suffer but in this episode, they concentrated on one thing; the fight. Yes, we didn’t get to see the other characters but I don’t even care lol the episode was just that good. Oh and let’s not forget that George R R Martin wrote the episode.

What Is Dead May Never Die.

Although “Blackwater” seems the more obvious choice (what with having, among other things, the most satisfying one-liner of the series by the Hound, of all people), I went with EP3 because it marks such a turning point in the narrative of the series, with Theon’s betrayal and submission to his father. It is from then that all goes truly downhill for the Starks, even more than with Ned’s execution in Season 1, and it was masterfully brought to the screen (and a special mention goes to Alfie Allen’s superb acting). “What Is Dead May Never Die” filled my head with “what-if” scenarios, which is, for me, a very accurate measure of its emotional impact.

David Ellison has optioned a US-based movie off of it, but there’s been no other news on it. So I really doubt they are shooting by, oh, the next few months that they’d need to cause a conflict.

I suppose it’s possible. But if it were true, what a colossal mistake for Maisie. I know — movies are higher profile than television. But man, that movie is going to bomb in the U.S., if it even ever gets made.

    Pastor_of_Muppets,

I have to call bs on it too. Filming for season 3 will be starting in just two or three weeks so I’d think we’d have heard something official if true. It would be a huge hit to the show if Maisie were to leave. I truly don’t believe they could find any girl that could fill her shoes. She has to be getting a lot of notice in this role and to jump ship for something like Star Blazers certainly seems like a huge mistake. With just a tiny bit of research one can be fairly certain it wouldn’t be a better choice for her at this time in her career. TOO, sure – instead, no.

on a different topic, has it been linked that GoT is getting the big room at Comic-Con?

A woman feels that Blackwater and What Is Dead May Never Die and Valar Morghulis are in a 3-way tie in my head. It’s impossible to choose between the 3 as they are so different in their locations and subject matter. I loved Blackwater because of the swift pace, intense action, pacing of the quiet moments that made the scenes emerge in a symphony of characters and plot. Perfect battle episode, and GRRM’s script was flawless. What Is Dead May Never Die was also a perfect script with many emotional and riveting moments, especially the introduction of Brienne, Craster abusing Jon, Yoren’s heartfelt advice to Arya (and then death fighting like a samurai), Theon’s decision that changes so much (and beautifully filmed letter burning), and Arya saving Jaqen and co before ultimately saving Gendry as they’re captured. Then Valar Morghulis, D&D’s love letter to the second season of GoT and A Clash of Kings, where Tyrion realizes he is well and truly screwed, Robb gets married, Stannis broods over his defeat, Bran and co. leave Winterfell after seeing a dying Maester Luwin, Brienne & Jamie have an encounter on the road, Arya says goodbye to Jaqen and learns the magic words, Dany’s HOTU does not resemble a tea party, and Jon is forced to kill Qurin to prove his mettle to the wildlings. So hard to pick, those to me are the 3 best in pacing, acting, production, and script. Not to say that other episodes weren’t great, but these 3 all seemed perfect…how can I pick one?

    Ella,

Theon’s first chapter in ACoK was one of my favorite chapters in the series to date, and, as I’ve made well known, I thought Alfie Allen killed it this season, so I definitely can’t fault your decision.

I would’ve voted for that one if Blackwater hadn’t been made.

I really liked the exchange between Theon and Balon when Theon says, “Ned Stark is dead”, and Balon responds, “Oh? And how do you feel about that?” (paraphrasing). Excellent acting all around. Patrick Malahide nailed it.

Rory McCann was brilliant, even with the very small amount of lines he had he was able to convey the fear of the fire, his contempt for the King & his ‘affection’ for Sansa…. Every time he said Little Bird I wanted to cry & my face was pressed against the TV so hard I could taste electricity….
I can’t wait for Season 3/4 when The Hound finds Arya I’m too excited for their interaction!

It has to be between Blackwater and Valar Morghulis for me. Blackwater had obvious drama and action, scattered with some standout acting from Dinklage and Headey.
Valar Morghulis was a more subtle affair with some series best performances. Of particular note must be Alfie Allen for his portrayal of Theon on the eve of his downfall (as Cleftjaw said, it was a good speech) Donald Sumpter’s fantastic and sorely missed Maester Luhwin and Christie and Coster- Waldau’s continued nailing of the Beauty/ Kingslayer dynamic.
I have to go with Blackwater in the end because, although Valar Morghulis had the stronger performances it was less consistent overall, let down by the decidedly flat Jon Snow scenes and a slightly iffy house of the undying (although that scene with the Khal was magic). I think the outstanding cast contributions for the finale should and will be recognised in the best actor/ actress votes but overall best episode? Blackwater.

I’d like to be original, but it’s hard to compare to the intensity, focus, personal stakes, and sheer scale of Blackwater. It really is unique. Only episode this season that I felt the desire to re-watch immediately after first seeing it. What is Dead May Never Die is an easy second. The writing and directing for that episode was levels above the rest of the season in almost every case, and it had Theon’s most memorable scenes in a season where Alfie Allen stood out as much as Peter Dinklage. Add to that Brienne’s introduction, Tyrion’s 123 gambit, and the brilliant Yoren/Arya scene + a battle to top it off, and it stands tall among the best of S1 imo. The Ghost of Harrenhal would be close behind in 3rd. As a fan of Arya, Tywin, and especially Jaqen I loved the Harrenhal scenes (particularly the last one), and unlike almost all other episodes this season there was really no scenes I had an issue with. Jon and Dany’s storylines were notably strong in this episode as well, unlike 90% of their scenes this year.

    My rankings:
    1. Blackwater – 9.75
    2. What is Dead May Never Die – 9.5
    3. The Ghost of Harrenhal – 9.25
    4. A Man Without Honor – 8.75 (Solid episode overall, and Jaime was amazing)
    5. The Old Gods and the New – 8.5 (Opening scene was breathtaking, then it veered off course with Jon and Dany’s storylines)
    6. Valar Morghulis – 8.25 (could have been so much more…)
    7. Garden of Bones – 7.75 (Tyrion/Lancel was great along with Davos/Mel, almost everything else had issues)
    8. The North Remembers – 7.5 (hindered by having to catch up on everyone at once)
    9. The Prince of Winterfell – 7.25 (no particularly bad scenes, but the plot didn’t move, which at this point in the season is a major issue.)
    10. The Nightlands – 7 (Theon and Arya’s scenes were good, no comment on the rest…)

GUYS WITHOUT A DOUBT! THE BEST EPISODES OF THIS SEASON WERE: episodes 13 to 16. In fact I’d say episode 13 “what is dead may never die” is absolutely FLAWLESS. episodes 14, 15, 16 were just as good.

Episodes 17, 18 were so bad and boring i found I had to really try hard not to press the fast forward button at certain points [some examples of the numerous horrible scenes in those 2 episodes: the empty conversation Robb has with his girlfriend in 17, the FIVE full minutes of empty pointless conversation between jamie and alton lannister before he kills him, jamie's escape followed by his immediate recapture a few minutes later in the episode [and the point of that was?], the poorly written scenes between john and qhorin in 18… the FIVE minute BORING AS HELL monologue by “Talisa” about her brother that made robb want to kiss her…. and the list goes on….]. That is not to say there were not some good scenes in those 2 episodes.. but they were few and far in between [e.g. Arya ordering the hit on Amory Loch..]. Whoever wrote those 2 episodes should never write for GoT again.

Episodes 11 & 12 were also quite poor [but definitely not as bad as 17 & 18], but I had written about those on an earlier post. Episode 19 blackwater was freakin AWESOME.. but it had its flaws [many of cersei's scenes.. stupid]. episode 20 was also average.

But episodes 13, 14, 15, & 16 were all practically FLAWLESS. In fact, when I looked up the writing credits for those 4 episodes, it turns out that Vanessa Taylor wrote 14 & 16 (the only 2 episodes she wrote this series), & bryan cogman wrote the flawless episode 13. They should definitely BRING THEM BACK for next season! [D&D wrote the rest- except blackwater-.. I'd like to see those 2 goons take a break from writing next season.. because frankly.. theyve lost theyre touch..]

Late to the party on this vote….

For me the best episode had to be A Man Without Honor.
Blackwater was good, but had a number of confusingly condensed scenes… What is Dead May Never Die was great, but just a notch below for me.

We got our first “You knowe nothing, Jon Snow”, Pyat Pree’s tricks, to see some Sandor interacting with Sansa (finally), Tyrion and Cersei being civil to one another (almost), Jaime’s controversial scene (which I LOVED), and maybe the best of the season’s Tywin and Arya scenes too.

Even if the Robb/ Talisa scene was pathetic and the far too bovious callback to the orphan boys making the Stark boys death’s an obvious farce… this was still the best done episode to me.

While I love looking back and comparing the episodes in Season 2, it’s hard to judge these episodes equally, because they serve different purposes in a larger story arc. Ep 11 is meant to re-introduce the characters and start the narrative ball rolling. Ep 20 is meant to have some closure, while still setting up elements for Season 3. Ep 19 is meant to be the climax episode of the season. After several seasons, perhaps a better ‘best of’ would be to compare opening episodes, climax episodes and final episodes of each season. That said, Blackwater is a knock it out of the park climax episode, with V.M. a very satisfying season finale, with the final walker scene just as powerful as the birth of the dragons final scene in season 1. I hope the producers continue this successful arc format in season 3 and beyond, with just enough variation to keep it fresh and original.

Actually I don’t see how it could be. Lena owned Blackwater just as the battle did. If I recall you haven’t read the books have you? Your entitled to your opinion of course but Cersei’s scenes is a perfect example why GoT is streets ahead from other attempted fantasy dramas. I’m not saying your wrong or right its just surprising since the episode is more praised for Lena’s scenes than the actual battle. All of what you saw and heard in her scenes plays significantly in the series in the future. Was it just the idea of her drunk that bothered you because that’s how Martin wrote it

Sorry you didn’t enjoy it but for this for diehard ASOIAF fan her scenes were manna from heaven.

Arya´s second death and her encounter with Jaqen was quite funny! You first meet Ygritte and she´s sexually teasing Jon Snow. Theon captures Winterfell, which I didn´t really expect to happen so soon. And no one will probably read this because my comment is too far down

    crystal illescas,

I read it and now I’m doubting my choice for Garden of Bones. Damn, I really need to do a complete rewatch to actually pick an episode. Great excuse for a re-watch though.

A very good (and underrated) episode! The only one that really captured the dark, grim feel of Harrenhal from the book.

Ok, I´m pretty confused this year. We´ll see next week when I finish re-watching this season but for now: You liked ep. 2 I think and so did I (good writing, editing and cinematography), what you didn´t like about ep 3 (Lommy´s dead) I also hate.
But you hated ep 8 and I don´t. We´re not that bad. So, be my friend again!

Oh I wish. Not that I want to change your mind (but I do): Are you absolutely sure that episode 4 was the one you liked the most?
Because, LOL, I think it’s one of the worst for me! Although there are a few good scenes most lacks dramatic intensity and intimacy imo, as if it ´s on the verge of achieving it but fails (like Arya´s prayer). And others are just plain bad (like Qarth: now I understand that they made her look like a complete fool on purpose but still… ¿why?). The biggest problem for me is in actors direction (which I think is a bad mix of writing and direction). But is just my opinion.
Oh! and there´s Littlefinger´s behaviour… such a mistery to me. Instead of hating the man I want to give him anxiolytics.

But the first Harrenhal scenes are very good, you´re right…and Tyrion-Lancel scene was very nice too (don´t remember exactly though)

I just remember: episode 2, The night lands, has great lines:

My favorite: “And how do you feel about that?” (Balon)
Hot pie about battles: “When they put their armour on” (or something like that)
Tyrion to Janos Slynt: “I´m denying its existence”
And there are others that can´t remember right now (between Tyrion and Cersei when he accuses her of the baby killing, between Bronn and Tyrion, etc).

Gah, so torn between these episodes…
Do I go for the amazing Blackwater?
Or do I go for an amazing episode that features Jaqen and Theon at their best?

Special effects or amazing acting, mysteries and character development?
    choices, choices…

    *tears hair out of skull*

I guess in the end, ASOIAF isn’t about amazing battles. The entire series focuses on character development, internal struggles and problems every player has to confront to survive. So no Blackwater for me, but a salute to Alfie Allen’s amazing acting and bringing the character of Theon to life in a way that just digs straight into the heart of a lot of fans. Jaqen telling Arya that ‘a girl cannot tell a man what to do’, but showing his amazing skills as a faceless man. Tyrion’s despair during the attack on the royal family… So in the end, it has to be The Old Gods and the New.

Blackwater. Possibly the most amazing hour+ of television I have ever seen! There were other noteworthy episodes, great scenes (Theon, Arya and Tywin, Arya and Jaqen…) but Blackwater is better than many full scale movies, and not just for the incredible battle scenes. The acting is top-notch and the way the episode swings in and out of the battle… wow! just wow!. Incredible acting in this episode from Lena Heady, Sophie Turner, Peter Dinklage, Sibel Kekilli, Rory McCann, and others. Read the books several times and was still on the edge of my seat the whole episode, even on second viewing. No other television episode ever did that to me. And we also got ‘The Rains of Castamere’ at the end… by the Nationals. what more could you ask for?! Also, scripted by the man himself – GRRM!

I voted for “Blackwater,” because it was so amazing from start to finish. If I hadn’t chosen that, I would’ve gone with “A Man Without Honor,” which was constructed and performed so wonderfully. “What Is Dead May Never Die” is probably my third-favorite of the season.

Really loving the the Man Without Honour love on this board. I would also like to make a case for The Prince of Winterfell. There are some fantastic moments in that episode. the Varys/Tyrion/Bronn scenes are golden (the shots of Tyrion and Varys on the battlements with the Red Keep in the background are absolutely exquisite) and I love the short Danerys scene as well. On the second viewing Dany seems only petulant at least to me in episode 6. Everyone who disliked her in this season points out that she sounds like Viserys but I think that’s the point. Viserys had nobody on his side and if he did he was given advice that he wanted to hear. When Jorah said nobody gets by in the world alone, “no one” to me this was the writers saying that Dany could become Viserys if she loses her friends and allies. This is also echoed in the Maester Cressen/Davos internal conflict of “good service is telling hard truths.”
As for the Tyrion/Cersei/Ros scenes they are initially off putting because of Cersei’s weakness in front of Tyion near the end of Man Without Honour but after watching that scene again, you can tell Cersei is feigning some of her anguish in front of him, she is testing him seeing that he despite everything still cares about his family and that he is weak, that he can be easily controlled. Therefore the scene in the next episode isn’t as jarring because she finally has him right where she wants him…or so she thinks.

I myself have accepted Talisa, unlike others I see a chemistry (a physical not verbal as Words are Wind right?) between Chaplin and Madden. Just the furtive glances she gives Robb and the lustful, possessive full on staring that Robb gives her. But what makes the scenes stick out is the lingering presence of Roose Bolton. I am glad they didn’t make Roose a creepazoid up front and instead are building him up. Oh that is going to work out to writer’s advantage come next season. That’s why I think they are holding back the deaths of Bran and Rickon from Robb’s camp, because Bolton is going to find out about it from his bastard (probably after Ramsay flays Dagmer and co) and will know that they are still alive but instead will tell Robb they are dead anyway. Bolton will use this to his advantage. He will also speak out against the Talisa marriage when he finds out…and Robb will send him to Harrenhal. My prediciton.

Oh and I love show Shae now, she is awesome. Great pathos is to come from this storyline. And there’s already foreshadowing: in reference to protecting her Tyrion says he will “have to kill more before this is over”. Ouch!

Again, a shout out to Episodes 7 and 8. They may not be book loyal as we want them to be but damn this is good television and it resonates Martin’s world so well.

If you vote with your “knee jerk” reaction, most of us would vote for ‘Blackwater’, because visually it was the most impressive and everything was epic. Though much of GoT has a big budget Hollywood feel to it, this feeling was never more apparent then during ‘Blackwater’. However, I really found myself going on an up and down emotional rollercoaster ride during the final episode ‘Valar Morghulis’ that I have never experienced before from watching a TV show, so I have to vote for episode 10.

Valar Morghulis was brilliant. Of course there were some disappointments on what was left out or what could have been (House of the Undying), but if you focus on what actually “was” in the TV episode it was breathtaking. I had feelings of excitement followed by feelings of sadness. The 70mins went by so fast and I never wanted it to end. Each POV character storyline was set up perfectly for next season.

Valar Morghulis left me with my mouth open at the site of The Others and just all the setup for whats to come next season.

Gotta go with “The Old Gods and the New” if only just for the opening scene, but it had many other cool moments too (riot, jon and ygritte, dragons stolen). “Blackwater” is up there too as well as “Valar Morghulis”.

A lot of people give love to “What is Dead May Never Die” but I don’t know, I think people are overrating it. It was good (every episode is good) but not the best of the season. The three I mentioned I thought were better.

Yes! I’m with you. The Spice King is my favorite minor character in season 2, with Ser Alliser Thorne being my favorite from season 1. I’m a huge fan of “hater” characters that put some of the main characters in place. I think they’re hilarious. It’s the same reason why King Robert was one of my favorite characters: he hates on all the Lannisters. Any character that talks shit is a character that I like.

I almost voted for “A Man Without Honor” because the writing was so good. However, the battle scenes in “Blackwater” were so great, so far above anything I expected from TV, that I had to click the vote button for that episode. There was such a grim feeling to those scenes between Cersei and Sansa. And I loved the Hound’s speech about killers.

Why? The opening scene was probably the most memorable of the season for me. Sure “Blackwater” was epic, but the scene with Theon taking Winterfell and beheading Ser Rodrik was just perfection. Absolute chaos and perfection. The stealing of the dragons was also awesome. And last but certainly not least, the whole King’s Landing riot scene ruled. From Tyrion insulting Joffrey to the Hound cutting out some intestines, it was just awesome.

May have been the best episode of the series so far for me.

Watched 203 again last night and reconfirmed that it is my favorite. I forgot that that had Yoren’s dialogue with Arya and his “last stand” against Lorch. It also showcased Tyrion and his exchanges with Pycelle, Varys, and LF. Did anyone else catch the brief look of gratification on Tyrion’s face when Cersei confronts him about shipping Myrcella off to Dorne? PD nailed it. Like “ha, now I know it was Pycelle”. Yet its so quick and subtle that I think only book readers would pick up on it.

Its little things like that that make up for all the changes and lack of certain favorite scenes/characters for me.

I loved Valar Morghullis simply because it emotionally built on the wonder that was Blackwater and I was feeling teary eyed by the time I realised the episode was at an end. The cameo by Jason Mamoa was also incredible. He should get the emmy for best Cameo! I had completely forgotten about the impending arrival of the White Walkers. Blackwater is definitley the best episode of the season and probable the best hour of television this year. Garden of Bones is my personal favorite. The scene where Stannis and Renly meet is my favorite scene of the season. Stannis’s deliberate and straight to the point statements, Renly’s charismatic and playful retorts, the hills overlooking the coast line, Melisandre’s influence. The scene sets up the plot lines, shows who Stannis and Renly really are and the differences between the 2. Renly shows his inexperience and lack of understanding while Stannis shows that he is willing to do anything for the Iron Throne. And yes…. Stannis is the rightfull heir and anyone who denys his claim is an enemy and should be destroyed!

after re-watching the episodes don´t think I changed my mind. Every episode has something I like: editing (Frances Parker!), writing or directing, cinematography). Actor´s performances, however, were outstanding throughout the whole season (only one actor/actress didn´t do it for me). Anyway I can not choose an episode I think. Battles and green fires don´t impress me that much but still episode 9 is among the ones I liked the most next to 2, 3, 7, 8 and 10. Ep. 4, 5 and 6 were the worst for me. Episode 1 is in the middle of it all (must have been very hard that one).
I´d choose “A man without honor” (7) but the structure is not right, too many scenes with too many characters IMO.
Episode 2: very good editing and cinematography, has good dialogues and some humor. (I love the scene with Hot Pie, Lommy, Arya and Gendry)
Episode 3 has only one thing I hate: the last sequence (but there´s that great line: “And how do you feel about that”. Really, really, like that family Greyjoy scene)
Episode 8, like the pacing and has one of the best scenes of the season for me: Yara and Theon. (someone truly loves Theon. I really don´t).

I wish it was standard operating practice for all websites to tell you which external sites are used to render the page, instead of assuming visitors are going to naively allow everything. How is one to know which is a legitimate site and which might be a site inserting a hack into the page? Most of the ad network sites are obvious, some like admr.net i have to use my imagination, some like openx.net I can tell only from experience is an ad network, but wtf is rubiconproject.com? Even allowing every single one of these does not let me see the damn poll.
