The big Comic Con starts tomorrow for Game of Thrones fans, but last weekend some of the cast attended the London Film and Comic Con.  Red Carpet News was on hand and managed to snag some quick interviews. Think of them as a bit of a teaser for tomorrow’s festivities.

Was Finchy that ugly as Dagmer?

    I kid, I kid.

I chuckled at John Bradley’s comment about fans and Richard/Kit, thinking back to GRRM talking about “Team Rob” and “Team Jon” last year at Comic-con

Finally! News has been so non-existent, it’s nice to get some video interviews with cast members we don’t often hear from. I do wish the interviewer had varied the questions instead of “why do you think this show is so popular?” for everyone. And did the interviewer even watch the show? He should’ve supplied the name, “Bran,” to Ross Mullan. Anyway, I love listening to these actors and actresses delight in this series.

I am still holding out hope that Nathalie is still Arianne, but if not I would take Amrita (if she works out VISA by then). Like Nathalie, she personifies how I imagined the Princess of Dorne, and in two years casual viewers wouldn’t realize it at first. Since Arianne is more elegant, cultured, Amrita would be almost unrecognizable from her earlier role.
So D&D, if Arianne hasn’t been cast yet, please, please consider Amrita.

tysnow: (if she works out VISA by then).

Amrita recently did an Ask Me Anything thread on reddit in which she stated that this was not the reason her character was killed off, instead saying that the writers know what they are doing and that she does still in fact have an EU work visa

My Favs were Rose & Eugene, with Gwen and Amrita as runners up.
(I notice how Amrita was plugging for work), also if she was having VISA problems (as rumors say), how does she speak with a really damn good English accent.

Oh! thanks for posting the vids.

Furthermore, are Dany’s handmaidens going to become GoT’s version of Red Shirts, if so and Nathalie is cast as a new handmaiden, then that doesn’t bode well.

I’m trying to figure out a way how to tell my wife that I will take Rose Leslie as my new wife is she is willing.

Step 1- Explain to your wife that you are converting to the religion of the Drowned God
Step 2- Explain to your wife that she is your rock wife.
Step 3- Kill Rose’s boyfriend or husband
Step 4- Claim her as a salt wife

I am in love with Gwendoline Christie as Brienne. She’s put so much into playing this part, and she seems like an amazing woman in real life as well. I felt kind of bad for her in the interview though; she almost looks like she’s so happy regarding all the love from fans that she’s about to cry!

Wow, these interviews really provoked my stream of thought. It is always great to meet the people that stand behind the characters that touched your heart, and thus make you even more engulfed into the show. Personally I enjoyed the most the John Bradley, Eugene Simon, and Ralph Ineson interviews.

John Bradley – He stroke me as a very intelligent and down-to-earth person. He really seems to know very well what he is doing and is so involved in all aspects of the show. His sweet face and kind eyes exude innocence in a way, but no naivety, and give the impression of a very open and serene man, very much like his Sam, which made him perfect for the role.

Gwendoline Christie – She presents the biggest contrast between the real person and the character. She is so feminine and cute, even a little bit flirty; can you imagine Brienne being so? :) I really loved the way she blushed during the interview when she talked about being honoured and privileged to participate in the project, and that namely was so Brienne-like. She completely understands and loves her Brienne, that’s why she nailed it.

Rose Leslie – Here I saw almost no difference between her and the onscreen character. I saw the same playfulness in her eyes; she seems as restive and easy-going as her Ygritte. I am pretty sure Kit Harrington had loads of fun doing the scenes with her :)

Ross Mullan – Well that was the most charming and smiling white walker I’ve ever seen in my life :) Ross is great. His devotion deserves respect, and I do hope we get to see more of him in the future. He has a pleasant deep voice and an interesting face that should not be hidden under prosthetics.

Steven Cole – Given the fact that his was the shortest interview unfortunately I cannot say much. He does seem like a very nice and decent guy though.

Eugene Simon – Oh wow! That came as a surprise. I never thought Lancel could be that funny, intelligent and charming. I enjoyed every second of the interview. Not to mention the mesmerizing eyes, the nice smile and the looks, he has a lot more than that. He’s got a great sense of humour, and a superb way of using his body language and gestures to show it, which makes it a lot of fun to watch.

Amrita Acharia – This is one strong exotically beautiful woman with huge sad eyes and very interesting personality. I associate her with the proverb “still waters run deep”, I don’t know why :)

Ralph Ineson – He’s got very peculiar face and absolutely intriguing voice. He is perfect for the bad guy part, it is obvious that he acts with ease, he loves it. He has such a great sense of humour, the serious type one, the type when you are wondering: “was that just now a joke or he’s being serious”. That was the funniest interview of these all. It was mainly because of Ralph and his great lines (the show like a “medieval gangsta movie”, the “asspinching”, etc), but also the two other random participants, the distracting boy in the background and the perplexed boy with the coffee. Did anyone notice ‘em? :)

Nonso Anozie – He’s got that ease around him, he’s a cool guy.

Well that’s just how I felt watching the interviews. For me it was very interesting to have a glimpse at all these people who contribute to the show we all love :)
