Last night, HBO also aired a 2012 Yearender promo, highlighting all their current shows and teasing next year’s slate. Included amongst all the footage is a brief glimpse of Dany in front of an army of Unsullied, as well as a close-up of Tyrion, showing his new scar.
Winter Is Coming: That Dany shot looks epic. It is safe to say that the more cinematic approach from last season has carried over into season three.

Oh my god this looks epic, Dany is going to KICK ASS!!! Cersei seems quite unhappy on the other hand…has the Queen of Thorns ruffled her feathers perhaps?

Is Tyrion looking up at his Bride? , The glimpses we get in the “In production” video seem to show a Wedding. http://wicnet.tumblr.com/image/37100584943
It has a lot of candles on the tables and if you look to the left of the “Guests” there are people in yellow robes again with candles. http://www.westeros.org/GoT/Graphics/Gallery/GameOfThrones_S3_InProduction01_16.jpg

Did you notice that both the first and last shots of the video were of GOT? That goes to show you how important the show is for them.

that HBO might well be thinking of ENDING GOT after season 3 ..
why would that be so? Why HBO would like to end a show thats supremely hit in all parts of the world

Ahmed Hassan,
There is no substance to that rumor. It’s just a misinterpretation of one sentence. They do not claim to have any sources actually saying the show is going to end.

This guy has misconstrued the quote from D&D. They have always said that their goal was to make it through season 3. Meaning it would be a disappointment if it were cancelled earlier. Because it’s widely accepted that book 3 is the best, I would have to agree. Now that Storm of Swords is essentially being broken into 2 seasons, season 4 is almost a certainty. If you watch the other interviews that came out this fall, you’ll hear them say as much.

Yup, a glimpse of Cersei as well. Gah, we’ll just need to wait some more …

Even better, the first show in the listing for next year is GoT. It goes before TB and Boardwalk.

As usual, HBO makes another awesome yearend trailer. Song choice is great, clips for all the shows are exciting (Game of Thrones clips are the best). Good choice to use Dany clips because Emilia looks epic in all of them, especially the new one. Last scene gave me chills.

That site should be embarrassed for printing such a bunch of BS. All that quote is alluding to is the fact that Storm of Swords is D&D’s and most other fans’ favorite, so of course that’s the book they were really looking forward to doing.

The reason why Tyrion and Sansa’s wedding is so late next season (in episode 8) is so that The Reines of Castamere can be played at its reception, whereupon viewers will be reminded of how it goes and have its meaning explained to them in the episode immediately before the Red Wedding.

On a related note, I think it is time we formally welcome Richard Harrow as an honorary Faceless Man.

I have to say, this season of Boardwalk Empire, especially after you know who died from last season, was terrific. I rate it better than GOT season 2 (please, don’t hurt me). I hope season 3 of GOT will be better than last season. As someone who read the books, I don’t see how it won’t, especially with so many things happened in SOS and how it’s the best book of the lot.

When the writers said they wanted to film what they thought was an amazing scene in book three I always imagined it was the astapor scene not the rw dany looks a total beast in front of the unsullied in that clip, Fire and Blood can’t wait

I wasn’t paying attention at first and thought this was for GoT-only, and wondered, “What’s Sarah Palin doing in Westeros?”
I think if she were on the show, she’d make Cersei look sane (although, there’s no way she could go toe-to-toe with Tyrion… She couldn’t even handle softball questions from Katie Couric, let alone mind games with the Imp).

That did look epic! Damn, Dany looked angry too…
DO NOT MAKE A TARGARYEN ANGRY! (especially if its Dany).

Arthur,
Not really high def, but this is from the 720p version, so I guess this is the best we can get for now:

Dave,
I think Season 2 of Game of Thrones was a bit better than Season 3 of Boardwalk Empire, but both were excellent. I actually think (especially after what’s happened to Homeland within the critical community) that Boardwalk Empire is now the leader in the clubhouse for next year’s Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series (even if Breaking Bad remains the best show on television, if it couldn’t win the last couple of seasons, it probably never will). I do anticipate that Game of Thrones is going to have the best overall season, given that we’re into A Storm of Swords now. I’m skeptical that a fantasy show can actually *win* the Emmy, though. I think it’s probably Boardwalk Empire’s year, and I can’t complain too much.
JohnQuote Reply
John,
Ignoring books 6 and 7, I believe that seasons 3 and 4 are Game of Thrones’ best shot at the Emmy, as ASoS is the best book so far. If they do it any justice, then season 3 will be the best season of Game of Thrones, and will be a very strong contender for the emmy. Almost all of the storylines will be strong, and aside from Kings Landing, the weak ones will only be minor storylines in the background (such as Dragonstone and Bran)
Ser TahuQuote Reply
Ser Tahu,
Season 4 probably has a better chance than season 3 in my opinion. Stannis, King’s Landing, and the Iron islands will have much stronger plotlines, and Dany Jon, and Bran will be just as good. Arya and Jaime will be the only ones worse off. Plus, the loss of Robb’s plotline will make the action much easier to follow, and Season 4 will make the audience happier when things finally start to go wrong for the Lannister’s.
The only problem I see with us winning an Emmy is the competition. This year we have the series finale of Breaking Bad, Homeland is going strong, and the Walking Dead is the best it’s ever been. Next year we’ll have the series finale of Mad Men to deal with. But we’ll see how it goes.
sunspearQuote Reply
sunspear,
Homeland isn’t going strong. The Walking Dead will never be nominated. And only Breaking Bad’s 8 episode first half of the final season will be up for next year’s Emmy. I think it will come down to Mad Men,Game of Thrones, and possibly Boardwalk Empire for the Emmy, even though I don’t believe Boardwalk Empire is in Mad Men,Breaking Bad, or Game of Thrones’ league.
