I thought it was pretty funny. It’s amazing what music and a little creative editing can do.

OK, I am laughing so hard right now.

I’m really tempted to go to westeros.org and start a thread titled “Tyrion & Varys: OTP?” just to watch the moderators and regulars have apoplectic fits…

Sorry to be the sourpuss here, but I find this kind of humor a bit distasteful. Are gay people so laughable that seeing straight characters played as gay is a source of laughs? Please, make me understand.

  29. Abyss
    Posted December 9, 2012 at 12:23 am | Permalink

    monsieurxander,

It is not the intend of the video to make fun of gay people. If that were the case, all the couples in it would be gay and the cannel would be something like Logo, not The CW.
The clip makes fun of The CW as a cannel which aims (especially) at teens and therefore makes shows like “The Secret Circle” or “The Vampire Dairies” were everybody is in love or seeks for it, just like many teens do.
To go this way with GoT is funny, because the show is very grim and realistic in its core, and doesn’t fit The CW at all. ;-)

Out of subjet I know, but this clip shows season 3 being filmed and we see the Hound in Dubrovnik. He’s filming with Meryn and Lannister soldiers. Could he come back in King’s Landing? Just curious.

It’s not funny because they’re gay, it’s funny because it’s Tyrion and Varys and GOT.

Could, at least, a native speaker please make a transcript of the lyrics so that I could use them to find it ? I can’t understand some of the words.. thanks.. ;X

Hahahaha. I thought the most ridiculous part was that they painted Jorah as “not knowing how.” And then the third pair came up. Not as good as other videos like this (the Gotham High one is the best I’ve seen recently), but it’s just so absurd that I chuckled.

    Mrs. H’ghar,

Hello, I know this is off topic but I have a question for you. It has to do with greyscale, is that a disease similar to lepracy or is there something more nefarious about it? The disease appears throughout the books but now that I am reading “A Dance With Dragons” there is a certain episode with Tyrion crossing the Rhoyne and the stone men…

    Posted December 10, 2012 at 9:35 pm | Permalink

    loco73,

Greyscale is the disease that Shireen had as a baby. It causes a person’s skin to turn to calcify at the infected area, making it appear to turn to stone. It is reasonably contagious and science doesn’t have a guarenteed cure for it yet, though it apparently isn’t always fatal in children.

I’m getting the impression that Ken Tucker is not a GoT fan? He gave the first few eps an A at the start of the season yet put the Good Wife ahead of it as best tv show of 2012. He also put Girls ahead of it as well. He praised Justified though so that’s ok with me.

I wonder if the fact that it is an adapted story might have something to do with it?

This was completely off topic but there wasn’t a post on this yet so I thought I’d share…

Daeny / Emilia Clarke is on the Jimmy Kimmel show tonight. I would think they should show it online by tomorrow morning.

    Highlights:
-Emilia tells the story of getting attacked by a line of hookers (this was funny lol)
-She makes comment about Khalessi being bad ass in Season 3.

    3-31-13 CAN’T COME ANY SOONER!!!!

    sunspear,

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer! Of course, greyscale appears throughout the ASOIF series, but it appears that in “A Dance With Dragons” the disease is described in more details and also the so-called stone men appear, and that is a new detail, I was just wondering if the disease was related with to the dragons, The Others and the way the world is changing in the books. Maybe I’m reading too much into this…
