… then the opening titles would look something like this. We could not wait with this one until Saturday.

This is great, but it is more late 80′s than 1995.

ewwww VHS lines, tape static, out of focus, discoloration, and cheesy soundtrack… yeah i think its more late 80′s than 1995.

Yes. Definitely more 80s than ’95. Whoever did this must be very young! LOL.
Funny as crap, though.

Off-topic, but is anyone else getting Pandora bracelet ads on the mobile site?

Hilarious regardless of the exact time it’s supposed to be :)
For the record, this does remind me of 1995…but a) I’m in Europe (which meant, in those days, getting the popular American series sometimes years after they’d aired first) and b) reruns!, and c) my parents never cared much for the latest tech gadgets due to simple lack of money, so late 80s, we still had a black-and-white tv.

Ha! As I watched it I was thinking “more like ’85″ and then saw three comments thinking the same.
Good vid… although that would be a crappy way for GoT to start.

Hollyoak,
I think it looks pretty much like Xena’s opening, and that was around 1995.
Bannerless BroQuote Reply
This is definitely 90′s imo – it brings back fond memories of watching Xena and Hercules and being impressed with the huge fake monsters they fought.

Well, a woman could quibble about the time period referenced, but why quibble when it’s so darn funny? Could be late ’80s, early ’90s, but then again it’s so perfect as it is, perfectly cheesy version of what could have been if only. Love that one can look back and create something like this though…this would not have been possible for a fan to do in that time period without major connections at a video production studio!

Oh, shows did indeed look like this in the 90s. Remember the intro to Lois & Clarke?

They should do one for The Walking Dead with all the pause and look and the camera moments in that show. Very funny.

I was reading the article posted on here the other day where David and Dan spoke about “the Scene Which Must Not be Named”. In my head I heard “I know it’s name”…spoken in the voice of The Kurgan from the movie The Highlander in this scene. The movie The Highlander was my absolute favourite movie growing up and it’s soundtrack is still my favorite soundtrack. This was long before the WWW and I spent years asking around at record stores. trying to find out which album the soundtrack came from. In the end, I did find out and in the end I bought not only this album but all Queen albums available on CD. Freddie Mercury and Queen became my favorite artist and band and because of this movie.
“GoT Laughs: If Game of Thrones aired in 1995 …” is great and all, but it also makes the Highlander soundtrack feel rather cheesy….I am torn.

off topic,
I put together this video of Dany set to Skinny Puppy’s song “Cult”. The lyrics fit her storyline nicely:
