Win a trip to Iceland to visit Game of Thrones filming locations
By Winter Is Coming on in Marketing.

Game of Thrones is not only known for its shocking twists and compelling characters, but its breathtaking landscapes. Iceland, used for many of the scenes beyond the Wall, provides some of the most impressive landscapes of all. And now is your chance to see those locations up close. Iceland Naturally is giving away a trip for two to Iceland to visit locales used in the filming of Game of Thrones.

Have you ever wanted to experience the mysterious land “beyond the wall” from the hit television show Game of Thrones? Iceland Naturally has launched the Iceland: Beyond the Wall Sweepstakes, giving entrants the chance to win a trip to northern Iceland to tour the scenic landscapes where the show was filmed. One grand prize winner will win a 5-day 4-night trip to Iceland for two that includes:

  • Scenic tours of northern Iceland’s most majestic landscapes, including the Goðafoss waterfall, Hverfell crater and the Lake Mývatn area, where Game of Thrones was filmed*
  • Tours provided by The Traveling Viking Tourism Company, who guided several of the show’s stars while filming in Iceland
  • Northern Lights viewing and relaxation in the Mývatn Nature Baths
  • Excursion to Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland
  • Roundtrip flights on Icelandair from the airline’s gateways in the U.S. and Canada**
  • Hotel accommodations at the Sel Hotel Mývatn and at the Hilton Reykjavik Nordica

Enter to win here or on Iceland Naturally’s Facebook page. The contest is open until May 17th. Good luck!

    “Travel not permitted between May 15, 2013 and September 5, 2013 and December 15, 2013 to January 5, 2014.”

I wonder if the May to September is filming period?

It says “only persons residing in Canada and United States who are at least 18 years of age can enter.” Anyone with a Canadian or US mailing address (permanent residents, students, etc) should also be okay to enter.

    D’Arcy,

This is mainly because that is the main tourist period here. They probably can’t guarantee a hotel.
And to add, they advertised northern lights viewing and the northern lights can’t be seen in summertime.

Bugger, again restricted to North-Americans… But this time I can understand it since it appears to be sponsored by a specific airline company, as the official rules seem to indicate:

    • Economy class round-trip air on Icelandair for two (2) persons from these Icelandair gateways only: New York (JFK), Boston (BOS), D.C. Dulles (IAD), Seattle (SEA), Minneapolis (MSP), Orlando (SFB), Toronto (YYZ), Denver (DEN) and Halifax (YHZ) to KEF Airport.

(for people about to enter: don’t forget about the costs of getting to one of those airports, and other expenses…)

Good luck to all of you living in the right place to enter the competiton!

Nope, just US and Canada. Mexico is not included (people constantly forget it is in North America).

So sorry to everyone outside of US/Canada…hopefully there will be a similar promotions in other countries/regions soon.

It is such a beautiful and fascinating country.

I also am from the West. If you are in the lower mainland of BC just hop on over to Seattle. Last time I flew to Iceland it was from there. Faster and cheaper than flying to Toronto.

Iceland has always been on my bucket list of places to visit, but yet again, this is only open to people in USA/Canada – even if we are willing to get ourselves to one of the gateway airports. *sigh*

Ccol to see that commenters here are from so many different countries.

Does Iceland really get visitors at Christmas? Maui sounds more pleasant as far as volcanic islands that time of year.
