Game of Thrones is not only known for its shocking twists and compelling characters, but its breathtaking landscapes. • Finally, something that Canadians can enter to win!
I’m very, very interested in this. As a geologist, I’ve always wanted to go to Iceland!

hope you visit Gros Morne national park in NFLD if that is the case :) …

  • “Travel not permitted between May 15, 2013 and September 5, 2013 and December 15, 2013 to January 5, 2014.”

I wonder if the May to September is filming period?

  • Ilia Stark:
    It’s for US citizens only!

It says “only persons residing in Canada and United States who are at least 18 years of age can enter.” Anyone with a Canadian or US mailing address (permanent residents, students, etc) should also be okay to enter.

  • Oh really America? AGAIN?
Well guess what, Im gonna have my own GoT contest, with blackjack and hookers… In fact, forget the contest

  • ametalfellow: Coltaine777, I’m in the West, so that’s pretty far from me, but it’s going on the list!Cheers.

Good luck in the contest …Canada is so HUGE lol ..I have never been out WEST myself but hope to get out there one day soon !…and actually I haven’t been out EAST either lol , but I work with many Newfies and they always tell me to make sure to visit GROS MORNE park when I do because of it’s many distinct landscapes …apparently it is a Geologist dream …

  • Yea ! I want to go…… dream of Tormund at the Wall, Bjork nearby to autograph
    a few CD covers *>*

  • D’Arcy,

This is mainly because that is the main tourist period here. They probably can’t guarantee a hotel.
And to add, they advertised northern lights viewing and the northern lights can’t be seen in summertime.

  • Bugger, again restricted to North-Americans… But this time I can understand it since it appears to be sponsored by a specific airline company, as the official rules seem to indicate:

    • Economy class round-trip air on Icelandair for two (2) persons from these Icelandair gateways only: New York (JFK), Boston (BOS), D.C. Dulles (IAD), Seattle (SEA), Minneapolis (MSP), Orlando (SFB), Toronto (YYZ), Denver (DEN) and Halifax (YHZ) to KEF Airport.

(for people about to enter: don’t forget about the costs of getting to one of those airports, and other expenses…)

Good luck to all of you living in the right place to enter the competiton!

  • Oh, I am so entering this! I live in Seattle, too…an Icelandair Hub.

So sorry to everyone outside of US/Canada…hopefully there will be a similar promotions in other countries/regions soon.

It is such a beautiful and fascinating country.

  • ametalfellow,

I also am from the West. If you are in the lower mainland of BC just hop on over to Seattle. Last time I flew to Iceland it was from there. Faster and cheaper than flying to Toronto.

  • Iceland has always been on my bucket list of places to visit, but yet again, this is only open to people in USA/Canada – even if we are willing to get ourselves to one of the gateway airports. *sigh*

  • Ccol to see that commenters here are from so many different countries.

Does Iceland really get visitors at Christmas? Maui sounds more pleasant as far as volcanic islands that time of year.
