GoT Laughs: GRRM’s dreams and Sam the wizard

Two comics for you on this, the first Saturday of the summer. Here is a peak into George R. R. Martin’s dreams, courtesy of Foshkos.

Secondly, a new Pointy End comic by Mike Rosenzweig explores what Sam would have done if he were really a wizard.

  • Hahaha, something about GRRM clutching the covers is hilarious.
    Also while I’m on here, found this cover of rains of castamere with a nice extra verse added in while trawling youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USn8dZtYw90 I was skeptical at first but the extra bit is pretty well done

  • GoT Season 4:

    Dany’s storyline opening scene;

    A goat is eating, a shadow appears covering it, it looks up, Drogon soars in breathing fire, pounces on the burning goat and carries it off…

    Dany’s storyline closing scene;

    A little girl is playing with her brother in a field, a shadow appears covering her, she looks up, Drogon soars in breathing fire, pounces on the burning child and carries her off…

    Any questions? =P

    Spoilers!

  • I can’t help but think that Samwell Tarly as a (time-travelling?) wizard would either choose a more consequential moment to change (Bran being pushed out of a window, perhaps? Or Lady Stark taking Tyrion prisoner?) or something with more personal significance to him. Very nice artwork, though, and the idea of Sam riding a unicorn is pretty great, though I’m sure House Brax would protest.

    Some about whether or not you know how to use spoiler tags.

    Also about how that would work with Dany not having yet captured Meereen.

  • Not sure how the first one is funny. Why would we be happy all the Lannisters are dead? All the Lannisters dead sounds awful because for one, many of the Lannisters are decent people who don’t deserve to die (Tyrion, Tommen, Myrcella, Lancel, etc.) and two, all the Starks being white hats and all the Lannisters being black hats sounds like the kind of boring story we’ve all seen a hundred times that we’re really tired of. We like Goerge’s story because it’s not that sort of story. That first picture sounds like the kind of thing that (to misquote the show) someone who hasn’t been paying attention to the story would think would be the outcome. The Starks are all good and will reign victorious and live happily ever after. The Lannisters are all bad and will all fail and die. Bleagh! Sounds like my idea of a nightmare.

  • The (derpy) unicorn part made me laugh really hard: in the italian version of the books there’s a huge (well, more than just one!) translation error. The stag antler that killed the female direwolf at the beginning of the first book becomes, by magic, a unicorn horn. With no apparent reason.

  • I am still hoping that unicorns will play an important role in the story to unite the people of Westeros by love and friendship. :D

  • Justice,

    Yeah…

    Usually comic-con mid July. Isn’t that when we got the short video of all the new cast telling us who they will be playing? I know it was some comic-con type event.

    With so few new character casting this year I bet mid July at comic-con we get the announcements on who’s playing the new characters.

    Can’t wait to see what direction D&D go with the Red Viper.

  • Sansa reminds me of a post-Hollywood version, like when Meg Griffin is replaced by a more sensual woman to play her role. Or was it Lisa Simpson? Or both…

    Adria, do you like to lay with lions?

  • Random but felt the need to come here. Just had a dream that (I think it was the TV Show?) It was the end of a season and Cersei and some other people I can’t remember are on a boat, and when they dock the camera turned and panned out to show a really cool image of Dorne towering above them as they exit the ship. Cersei said something or other and they walk off and into the city (Sunspear I guess?) the camera pans back and the season ended. I’m pretty sure Cersei was accompanied by some other main character and some kingsguard, I don’t remember clearly I’m losing more and more details the longer the day goes on.

    Lol I have no idea, but apparently that was lying in my subconsciousness.

  • Adria,

    Let’s just burn ‘em all…!;-)

    Or wait – not Cersei and Tyrion of course – it would mean losing the conversations a lot of us love so much (and Cersei is always wearing these lovely costumes as well!)
    And not Jaime either – much too amusing and good looking to be killed (although I do hope Cersei will make him shave now he’s back!)
    Joffrey – difficult one that one – but no – why not try the “You go to bed without your supper NOW” approach once more before applying the more drastic measures:-)!
    Tywin we need to send Joffrey to bed without his supper, Tommen and Myrcella are cute little children, I’ m afraid that leaves us with whiny Lancel – we should settle on him really!

  • Timmen,

    I had a nightmare in which Stannis gets beheaded in the upcoming Battle at the wall
    with so much producer i’m in fear it could go that way
