There will be a number of licensed products given their own time and space during the San Diego Comic-Con taking place at the end of this week (Thursday through Sunday). Not only will there be existing merchandise available, they will also unveil brand-new items.
- Funko Pop! Vinyl Figures: Tyrion, Ned, Daenerys, Khal Drogo, The Hound, a White Walker, Jaime, Cersi, Renly, Jon, Robb and Arya represent the current line of figures, and an exclusive new one will be available during the convention. Find them at Booth #5343.
- Dark Horse miniatures: the Stark shield and the Iron Throne 7-inch replicas will be available. A new product is going to be unveiled there, stop by Booth #2615 to see what it is.
- Game of Thrones Ascent: The social media game will be playable on three computer stations as part of the “Join the Realm” exhibit on L Street in front of the Omni Hotel.
What is more, Inside Editions is going to present their Game of Thrones: A Pop-up Guide to Westeros. As the name suggests, it is a pop-up book featuring the castles of Westeros, and illustrated by no other than Michael Komarck! Where? Booth #1134.
And of course, there will be the big Game of Thrones panel on Friday. We are happy to let you know Simone Boyce will be covering the event for us.

GAME OF THRONES ® & TRUE BLOOD® PRODUCTS UNVEILED AT COMIC-CON 2013

Game of Thrones Ascent: The hit social media game Game of Thrones Ascent will be featured in the “Join the Realm” exhibit on L Street in front of the Omni Hotel. Three computer stations linked to the fascinating game will be available for all Comic Con participants to experience. In Game of Thrones Ascent players will lead the life of a noble during the time of upheaval as portrayed in the books and the series uniting both story and strategy. Players will claim their birthright by choosing which of the great houses they’ll swear allegiance to, securing their holdings, developing their lands and personal reputation, and assigning sworn swords to quests–while forging alliances with new friends and much more!
Dark Horse Stark Shield & Iron Throne: This seven-inch replica comes with a hook for wall mounting and retails for $30, with a limit of two per person. Produced in an incredibly limited run of only 1,200 pieces, these are sure to go fast! Consumers will also find a meticulous crafted 7″ tall version of the Iron Throne which captures all the fine details for $59.99. Additionally, new Game of Thrones product line will be unveiled during preview night, to find out what it is stop by Booth #2615.
True Blood: A Field Guide to Vampires Singing with Michael McMillian: Michael McMillian, who plays Steve Newlin on the hit HBO series, will sign preview copies of the upcoming book True Blood: A Field Guide to Vampiresco-authored by McMillian and series associate producer Gianna Sobol. Releasing timed to Halloween, the guide is a private journal written by Reverend Steve Newlin (before he was turned) which chronicles all he knows about Bon Temps’ Creatures of Satan. Eric and Pam get their hands on the journal and deface it with snarky comments and contradictions. The signing will take place on Friday, July 19th from 12:00pm-1:30pm at Autograph Area #19.
True Blood Bites & Drinks: For ravenous fans of the hit series, True Blood Bites & Drinks presents 45 quick and easy recipes for themed gatherings and weekly viewing parties all inspired by the colorful world of Bon Temps. Delicious “in-world” appetizers, cocktails and nonalcoholic drinks are featured along with quotes and commentary from the characters themselves and original unpublished photography from seasons one through five. True Blood Bites & Drinks will be available at the Chronicle Books booth #1506.
