Saturday’s GoT Laughs: Fingers and tongues (and consoles)
By Hear Me Roar on in Humor.

One more after the break. Also, do not miss the following linked awesomeness: Game of Thrones Characters as Video Game Consoles. The descriptions are brilliantly thought out, IMO.

Love the Stannis one. And for the consoles, love Petyr as Xbox One: “True motivations unclear. Purportedly powerful. Will spy on you.”

Also, for those who missed it, Bronn is fighting in Season 4: http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/10/12/nycc-game-of-thrones-with-jerome-flynn

My idea is that maybe he begins by fighting Meryn Trant (or Taryn Mant in lieu of their previous altercation) and as head of the Kingsguard Jaime walks in. Jaime stops the fight, discusses things with Bronn and realises he’s close to Tyrion. With some level of trust, Jaime requests that Bronn fights him, with Bronn replacing Illyn Payne’s role (as has been speculated)

    Family, Duty, Hodor,

I’ve had the suspicion for a while that they were going to somehow have him fight the hound at the inn, since they sorta set up them having a conflict in the Blackwater episode, but Iike your idea better.

Either way, they are probably going to cut his marriage (or just delay it, if it becomes an important plot point later) and keep him in some way a series regular, since he’s such a popular character

    Carlos,

Or maybe he sticks with Tyrion on his trip overseas? I *do* like the idea of him replacing Ilyn Payne, although the whole point of Ilyn was that he couldnt speak or write, so Jaime could tell him anything and not worry about him betraying his secrets

    Carlos,

It does seem too late in the story arc to introduce “Lackwit” Lollys, especially as the plot never develops into anything of real importance in the grand scheme of things (nothing but a couple of pages out of AFFC in the end). This is backed by no mentions of the Stokeworth name or lineage, plus Shae becoming Sansa’s handmaiden in Season 2, even though she only takes up that position for a short time halfway through ASOS.

The lack of mention so far of them doesn’t really indicate anything.

The Stokeworths can be mentioned for the first time this season when Bronn reveals Cersei arranged a marriage to their lone daughter who got pregnant by some random commoner. And bam, you’ve got all you need to know. I do think they’ll play up his stuff in season 5 as one of the problems Cersei tries to deal with.

I think Payne’s role is going to be filled by Loras. After Tywin dies, Cersei will call off the marriage and appoint Loras to the Kingsguard to spite the Tyrells. In AFFC, Jaime thinks about how Loras is like a younger version of him and thinks to mentor him. The show can take that path and have them bro down together on the road while their sisters go to war with each other in King’s Landing.

There is the “blink and you’ll miss it” scene of a mob of men stripping a woman naked during the riot in season 2 (before Sansa is cornered by the rapists). I assume that was there to set up a later reference to Lollys Stokeworth’s rape and pregnancy, and could be referred to if/when Bronn gets to marry her. They wouldn’t even need to cast the roles of Lollys and her familyto refer to those characters to understand what it means for Bronn’s position.

    lol,

I agree Loras could be another candidate to fill Payne’s shoes, and that Lollys could be introduced rather easily. That being said, the reason this has come up is that Jerome said in that interview that there would be major changes that may surprise fans. Hence, it seems unlikely they are going to stick to that. I think the big question is how they’re going to adapt AFFC/ADWD. If they split the books over the course of two seasons, then it would make total sense to include the Stokeworth plot and even play it up a bit. But, if they’re planning on covering both books in one season, which is likely if they’re really serious about finishing the show after 7/8 seasons, then it would make more sense to strip Cersei’s story down to the essentials, which would mean cutting the Stokeworth’s, and keep Bronn involved some other way, like the previously mentioned Jamie thing.

After just watching The Matrix I’ve come to realize that The Matrix has all the Anime/Manga elements and is an excellent example of how anime/manga can be successfully crossed over to the western world market.

So Bronn gets a fight scene in season 4 that isn’t from the books. Interesting…

    Dude!!!

I think you’re totally on to something with that! That would be such a clever way of doing the Jaime retraining thing.

    Great theory buddy!

I’m thinking that Bronn gets killed offtoo many new characters, and he is not needed any longer. My guess is that Gregor kills him to make the trial more stressful later.

    Tenesmus,

    I hope not…

The only reason I think this wont happen is because I can’t imagine the actor playing Bronn is greedy and/or demanding alot of salary for playing the minor character of Bronn…

Though you are right that would really build up the tension. But I think the worth of keeping Bronn on the show for future things outweighs the payoff of killing him…

Everyone I know loves TV Bronn and the Jaime training thing makes perfect sense, to me anyway…

    You could be right though…

1st time watching? Or were you re-watching? I remember watching that in the theater when it came out. When Trinity pulled all that crazy shit off the walls in the beginning the whole theater cracked up at how awesome it was. Definitely a game changer movie. Haven’t watched it in a while. Not the greatest acting from what I remember but an incredible movie for its time. It’s too bad the sequels couldn’t live up to the hype.

Yeah, I have my doubts that they will have him betray Tyrion. Though, every time you make changes like that, it could come back to haunt you at some point.

    Hexonx,

I saw The Matrix in a theatre when it first came out also…

There’s a handful of movies I’ve seen in theaters that I will always remember the day clearly and who I was with, The Matrix being one of them.

The earliest movie I remember seeing that I still do this day remember was a movie called ‘Legend’. I really think that movie planted the fantasy seed in my soul that eventually grew into the huge redwood that it is today… The devil character “Lord Darkness”, is still one of my favorite fantasy characters ever.

I remember seeing ‘Braveheart’ with like 3 of my buddies, at this time we were high school teens and totally unspoiled to the movie… I remember at the end when William Wallace was getting tortured to death, then beheaded… We all just sat there in silence trying not to make crying noises.

I remember seeing ‘The Passion’, though I do not believe in anything supernatural or any Gods that movie mad me sick and whoozy and many people left with crying kids/teens.

Hmmm, I remember seeing ‘Troy’, Brad Pitt was such an amazing Achillies, I went to the theatre to see that movie like 4 times.

I was to young to remember seeing the original ‘Star Wars’ movies but I went to see ‘Phantom Menace’ like 3 times just because I LOVED Darth Maul (the Jedi killer) and loved how the bass and buzzing of the lightsabres sounded in the theatre.

The latest movie I will always remember and went to see multiple times was ‘Avatar’ just because of how awesome and beautiful it looked in IMAX 3D. It was unreal.

Lord of the Rings never did much for me, though as a kid I read the novels multiple times.

I have one regret of not going to see ‘Tron Legacy’ in IMAX 3D. My friends told me the sound and special effects were amazing. I bought it in Blu-ray and watched it several times just wishing I had the big screen/big sound experience… Can’t believe I didn’t go.

I’m sure there’s a few more I am forgetting right now in this AM but those are the main movie experiences ill never forget…
