As a Sullied, I particularly enjoyed hearing what Zack and Eric thought about this overload of imagery presented in the first trailer while Micah did his best to hear them out and stay spoiler free. I don’t know how you do it, man.

All I can say is that unlike the first three seasons, this season starts out in the middle of book three…so I believe there is going to be very little down time, very little ‘filler’ episodes that ramp up and build to conclusive ‘holy shit’ moments. Instead, I think that the entire season will be full of these moments as the Red Wedding was just the beginning. Should be the best season yet.

If it was Rast putting the baby in the snow, which I think it was, then he’s purposely sacrificing the child for his own safety in Craster’s Keep, implying that he lived through the chaos in the last scene he appeared. I think there’s no way in Hades Sam would jeopardize a baby like that.

It’s a single well-dressed man being converged upon by an angry mob of half-dressed men apparently in chains – i.e. slaves. This is a mob of slaves exacting vengeance. We haven’t even gotten to the Sons of the Harpy arc yet.

It’s a bit silly how they are teasing a Lannister-Targaryen war in the trailer. And there a few other details that basically amount to trolling the Unsullied. Doesn’t matter, by episode 2 everybody will be hooked on this season.

The dragon shadow is over King’s Landing: there is no discussion. It is simply the Red Keep seen from the land-side angle instead of from the sea. You can recognize the giant buttressed walls. Simply looking at a detailed photo of the Red Keep design for the TV series will confirm this. Meereen would have harpies in it, and Dorne looks completely different.

I am as blind as Eric, I guess. . . I can’t find Sansa. I am fairly certain the dragon in the first shot is flying over King’s Landing. I agree, it owned to see a “Fatherly Discussion” with Jamie and Joff. And I do not think Dani is evil, or crazy. . . I think that she’s a little girl fighting a man’s game and therefore, as we girls all know, to fight in a man’s world we have to be a bitch. Love you guys! Let the slow, sweet torture to April begin!

Its at the end, Figure in Grey standing in the snow – then a quick close up on Sansa’s face looking over her left shoulder at the camera – presumably in the same hood. But the Background looks different. Here is the Gif from the Trailer

Also, gold is not silver, Rast is not Sam, Theon looks like Theon, Sansa looks like Sansa, the Red Keep looks like the Red Keep et cetera etc. I can help.

Instead of just saying, “My Own this week goes to X because of blah, blah, blah” could you consider saying, “My Own this week goes to X, the Lysa Arryn of Y.” i.e. “Gendry, the Lysa Arryn of Rowing.”

All the hate is just silly. It’s easy to criticize if you’ve seen the trailer half a dozen times paused every moment, not so much if you’re overwhelmed at 1st or 2nd viewing. And there’s nothing wrong with these people’s intelligence.

Yeah, I’d hardly call Sansa a secret badass. She has one harrowing scene, but she hasn’t changed into a sudden Daenerys Stark at all. Don’t let fandom wishful thinking give your hopes up because she’s still a trapped kid even as the current books stand.

    FNF,

There’s too many attackers and it’s too conspicuous to be the death of one of Dany’s freedmen. Most likely it’s one of Meereen’s slavemasters being killed after Dany conquers teh city.

    Lollius Palicanus,
Willing to bet that most people who dislike Eric disliked him long before his lack of attentiveness this trailer. Like me.

    Chickenduck,

I will never understand replies like this. So you can’t like something and still dislike parts of it? If people only bothered with things they love everything about, nothing would get done by anyone. The concept that you have to either love everything about something or gtfo is exactly why the divorce rates in America are what they are. If it’s not perfect, why bother, right? >.>

    What a horrible non sequitur.

Anyway, you can dislike Eric as much as you want, my remark was to stop being so cheap in the comments.

And for the record, I like Eric. I don’t always like what he says, far from it, but he strikes me as not hiding his thoughts, even if he knows they’re not popular.
And no, that is no invitation to start a whole discussion on this subject.

    Greg,

I don’t think YellowStorm was joking in this case, so I responded in kind.

    haltwhogoesthere,

I don’t think that anyone on the podcast is airheaded. What’s going on is that they are addressing the material in an off-the-cuff spontaneous manner after digesting it for the first time and purposefully not spending much time thinking about it ahead of time. That’s what makes it fresh, new, and interesting rather than the same old stupid arguments everyone has on all the message boards, including this one.

In the case of the trailer they watched the trailer exactly once before recording the podcast. How many times did you watch it/read the comments before listening to it?

Try to remember a time when the material was fresh to you and you hadn’t discussed it with anyone and instead were just anxious to read the next chapter as fast as possible to see what happens. I think you’ll find you’re more like Eric than you think.

Well, to be nice, Eric does seam to have a fun sense of humor & he really likes Theon Greyjoy (WhatIsDeadMayNeverDie), so he can’t be all bad. What I’m getting at is: Why does prob the biggest website for the GoT show have a podcast with people so unprepared to talk intelligently about the subject matter, whilst also being amusing. It’s cringe worthy. I can’t help that I have a naturally adverse reaction to foolery & ineptitude. Peace & love.

Ok i have to add my thoughts to “Ericgate” here. I really enjoy this podcast its is far from the only one I listen to but it is one of my favorites for sure especially with the number of episodes produced compared to others. I like Eric and yet at the same time get very annoyed by him as well. To me it seems like he kind of tries to be the “shock jock” with his favorite characters and jokes and what not and that’s fine it has a place in this podcast I think.

That being said I will be totally honest and Zach, Eric and Micah if you guys read this you may remember that I have written a glowing itunes review of your podcast before so I am far from a hater or anything like that. I was very disappointed in this particular episode. We all knew this trailer was coming all weekend yet there was no structure to the podcast at all. I realize yall were going for an “initial reaction” feeling. That being said once you have said those initial reactions what is the reason you would not do exactly what the rest of us did and react to it frame by frame? I know I was expecting to hear that especially when it was how your trailer podcast last year was structured. Anyway, I enjoy you guys so no big deal just a bit of constructive criticism.

    Danarya,
There are actually three shots of Sansa, cut back to back. In the first, it appears to be Sansa, from behind, her head covered with the hood of her cloak. She is looking towards a snow covered courtyard in what appears to be the Eryie.

The next two shots confirm that the hooded figure is Sansa, as they are close up shots of her face looking out from beneath a hood (it appears that she is looking over her left shoulder). All three are very quick cuts. I had to pause on the close up face shots to confirm it was Sansa.

It would appear by these scenes that Sansa will be accompanying Little Finger to the Vale. Which is why I believe that the person LF is talking to is probably Lysa (about whose side she is on).
