By WiC Staff on in General, WIC Live.

“Winter is Coming Live” chat “Maester” Bryan Forrest takes a behind the scenes look at the weaponry used in HBO’s original series Game of Thrones. In this episode of “Weapons of Westeros,” Bryan discusses the history of “Wild Fire” and how it has been used around the Seven Kingdoms.

You can also check out the first episode of WOW, in which Bryan talks about the Stark ancestral sword, Ice.

Hate to be that guy, but you state that Davos shoots an arrow at the ghost ship filled with wildfire, it was Bronn.

Also, its true that Thoros of Myr used to light his swords aflame with wildfire, but when Arya meets him and the Brotherhood, Beric is able to do it using only his own blood.

One day, I’ll pop into WiC and read all these posts. There’s been so much content lately it’s daunting. I haven’t even gotten around to reading the recaps from the mods and other reviewers yet.

As mentioned by others, but I think it bears repeating: Beric’s blood itself sets the sword on fire in that particular scene, even in the show, as he clearly cuts his hand on the sword and then slides it along the blade.

I’m glad to see Bryan endorsing the theory that Davos is Jaqen and Jaqen is everyone so Davos is everyone. Its Tyrion that talks about wildfire burning your cock off if you piss on it, and Bronn who ignites the wildfire on the Blackwater

IRL, the closest thing to wildfire was Greek fire, used by Byzantium against enemy navies. If you’re interested, here’s a video about it:
