  • GRRM please finish these books. I can’t handle any more waves of OC garbage.

  • I’ve never read one of these comics that has even warranted a chuckle. Maybe just not my cup of tea? Does anyone find these funny?

I’ve found two or three of them funny. I actually laughed at this one. Like outloud laughed, not like LOL but I’m not laughing kind of thing.

The art is always great! The writing is… just never good.

  • This one made me lol for once. Even the alphabet dice spell “kill”. And that cat dragging itself along with its stuffing entrails hanging out is hilarious.

The artist posts on here too, so we shouldn’t be mean…

But I’ll be honest, I’ve never, ever found one of these funny at all. The artwork’s cool, but you need to get yourself a writer.

  • I normally wince when I see the writing on these cartoons, but this one was a good one. One of the best in fact.

The cartoons themselves are fantastic, I wish I had 1/1000th of Azad’s talent.

Also, spoilers much? White Walkers have to call the Night’s King Your Grace? Looks like Mance Rayder was never the true King Beyond the Wall!

  • Arya’s Nose,

Damn it, Ilyn, fight it! Aerys couldn’t do you in; don’t let this one do it. And I don’t know if I can handle another season of uber witty one-liners from Bronn. It gets old. Fast.

  • The “Facebook” people missed fact that someone called Karl Tanner should be an expert on the quality of larger.

  • Renly’s Peach,

I hope Wilko recovers, but I still doubt we’ll see him on GOT again.

Still, agreed on Bronn. I liked his scenes with Jaime, but in the end they’re just more of the same. The Jaime-Ilyn scenes in AFFC were unique, because Jaime could be absolutely honest around him, even more than with Brienne.

  • Tommy_gunn,

I was just thinking the same thing. NONE OF THEM have seemed humorous. The art is good, and I appreciate the effort. I just think they’re trying too hard, particularly with new content.

  • Actually, I think this comic would be significantly improved if you left everything exactly as is but just removed the “Whoh! Now, that’s more like it!” speech bubbles.

  • i like these, i don’t know what some of you are expecting.. people are so overcritical these days, or at least they’re pretending to be. hardcore.

If people aren’t screaming about a fictional “rape” that never happened, then they’re criticizing someone’s superior talent. Welcome to the Internet.

  • “We use criticism as a fake participation. It only looks as we accomplished something.”

    Great driving kiddo, WTF!

That one was funny! They are usually cleverly done and sometimes the joke isnt so obvious but there usually a couple funny moments every week!

  • Curtain call for random bearded Meereeneese slaver? Is this on? (Taps mic)

  • People are ass holes in general, its sadly a fact. You dont find it funny? Go make funny shit yourself and share it with the world! As Tywin said” contribute”

  • My favs from the Facebook Recap

    –Love, love, love “Banksy Slave”

–The convo between Margaery and Lady Olenna, frickin hysterical….”at least he had pubes”

    –Deep Woods Daycare!

  • Let me ask you guys which is more helpful to a aspiring artistic creator: Patting him on the back and saying “great job!” when something could be improved, or actually being upfront and telling the person that something about his creation might not be the best?

My intention was not to sound like an internet troll, because I do really think the art work is top notch. It was merely to point out what I view as sub-par writing. People seem to be getting really defensive, which I don’t really get. Not everyone has to be an award-winning author to make writing critiques, like some of you seem to imply.

  • GeekFurious: I’ve found two or three of them funny. I actually laughed at this one. Like outloud laughed, not like LOL but I’m not laughing kind of thing.

…what is it you think LOL means?

  • Offering constructive criticism is way more useful than faux compliments. If you can’t take some criticism, don’t make your work available for public consumption.

I’ll chime in and agree with everyone else: good art, mediocre punches. The writing is evocative of Family Circus, Marmaduke, etc. Old-fashioned, a bit juvenile, generally weak.

This week’s is the first I actually found funny, and it was more so because of the visual gags.

  • Tommy_gunn,

I admire Azad’s consistency as a digital illustrator, but his comics do come off as a wanting marriage of Game of Thrones and Family Circus in terms of content.

While you don’t need to be highly skilled in a field to be a respectable critic, as an artist or sorts myself, I personally feel an obligation to make good on my criticisms sometime and provide my own comic.

  • Tommy_gunn,

Constructive criticism should always be welcome. The way you phrased your initial comment was not IMHO constructive. Constructive implies polite, helpful and often involves suggestions for improvement. Saying you never found them even worth a chuckle is not being construed as “constructive”–hence the pushback.

  • GeekFurious: If people aren’t screaming about a fictional “rape” that never happened, then they’re criticizing someone’s superior talent. Welcome to the Internet.

    My thoughts exactly.

  • This one isn’t even a joke. It just sort of sits there waiting for a punchline that never arrives. This comic sucks so very badly.

  • Mike: …what is it you think LOL means?

I don’t think it means anything. I know it means “laughing out-loud”. But people use it to denote when they found something amusing, or when they smiled, or just to be nice etc.

When I use LOL, it means I actually laughed. Not to myself. But to the fuckin’ world!
