Alfie Allen’s father, Keith Allen, could join Game of Thrones to lead a rebellion
By Lightbringer on in Rumors.

Rumors swirled earlier this year that Alfie Allen’s sister, Lily Allen, had originally been offered the part of his on-screen sister, Yara Greyjoy. (Alfie recently put those rumours to rest in an interview with Vulture.) And now it seems that another family member could be vying for a part on Game of Thrones, Alfie’s father, Keith Allen.

In a brief interview with the Glasgow Evening Times, Keith Allen says that he is pursuing the role of a slave who leads a rebellion “like Spartacus”. And that “Every scene is a bloodbath. Frankly I think I’m cut out for that.”

He also claims that he had previously auditioned for the part of Alfie’s on-screen father, Balon, but deliberately gave a “rubbish” audition because the offer was “a bit cheesy, a bit obvious.”

It is unclear which role Keith Allen would play in Season 5, but it would likely be a character created for the television series, and possibly part of Daenerys’ storyline. As always, we will keep you updated on any solid casting developments.

Update:  An unnamed source confirms that Allen has not been offered a role on the show.

Definitely will go down in history as one of the more WTF headlines in Winter is Coming’s history…though I suspect this is all BS on Keith Allen’s part – both that he auditioned to play Balon and that there is a role for someone who leads a slave rebellion (if I had to guess, he just made that up because he likes ‘Spartacus’)

Odd article. Could be Cleon the Great, I suppose. That would be cool!

It wouldn’t be the first time this has happened in Game of Thrones. Ron Donachie (Rodrik Cassel) is the real-life father of Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne).

Keith Allen is a decent actor , by no means brilliant but he does the job although I just can’t see him in GoT ,he just isn’t serious enough if you get what I mean , as far as Lilly Allen goes , Jesus if that rumor was true we definitely missed a bullet , that would have been the beginning of the end for GoT , she is a fucking dingy .

    Ours is the Fury,

Let’s look at the facts of this ‘interview’: one local news website builds an interview with a catchy title around a few quotes. Are they truly quotes, or are they pulled out of context as the media more often than not do? Maybe Allen Senior said all of this in a mocking way whilst being playfull with the interviewer? You can hardly call it an interview anyway with those few snippets of ‘quotes’, and it’s not unlikely that this small news agent just wanted to get some attention on the back of the most popular television series of the moment. But yeah, let’s go along in this and claim that

Ours is the Fury: Something is really off about the Allens.

PS: I don’t follow celebrity gossip in general as it doesn’t interest me in the slightest, but the one time I saw Lilly Allen on a Brittish talk show (Graham Norton’s I believe) she was actually pretty funny.

I find it quite refreshing for them to be taking the piss out of the news like that. Obviously to generate a bit of publicity and stir the pot a little – it’s definitely not unlike Lily Allen to do something like that. Maybe the dry sense of humour runs in the family.

Seems a bit harsh (especially for one of the writers of this fantastic website) to say there’s something really off about them when they’re probably just messing with reporters for a bit of a laugh. I personally had a bit of a laugh about the idea of Lily playing Yara, and even moreso when I found out it was made up. If anything they should be thanked for the page hits I think.

Ros to Theon: ‘Please can you stop pulling my hair!?

Joffrey to Sansa: At first, when I see you cry-y-y, it makes me smi-i-ile. It makes me smi-i-ile.

Next year Cersei’s entire story arc could be backed by: It’s hard, it’s hard, it’s hard out here for a bitch!

Does Keith Allen say the role he read for is actually in “Game of Thrones”? Could it have been another show? As I don’t know him obviously I cannot comment about his personality. The version of the Sheriff of Nottingham he played in the BBC “Robin Hood” show a few years back was written as a cheesy character. He was alright in “Bodies” and in his younger days played the part of Rex in “Making Out” satisfactorily.

As for the number of articles posted on this website now, well I don’t have the time to read them all. I choose those I think might be interesting.
