This site has really become just a money making site. Good thing I use an ad blocker.

    James,

Sorry if the post bugged you James. We’re a network of sites so we often post openings ads on those sites to help us fill vacancies. We will occasionally post entertainment ads here. Last time we did it we found two terrific editors that are doing good work so we thought we’d post more openings to the WIC crowd.

We will also be aggressively expanding the WIC staff very soon and will be looking for applicants from our readership so stay tuned.

    Ana Carolina,

Sorry you hate FanSided, Ana. We’re working really hard to improve WIC and get things back on track. We have some exciting announcements coming. Hope you will continue to give the site a chance.

What I don’t understand is why they didn’t announce Ours is the Fury’s, Oz’s and Fab’s departure. This site is/was so popular because of them, they surely deserved some sort of a Curtain Call after all the years spent on this site… You owed that to them and us, the readers!

The Wal-Mart-ization of this site has become too much. Thanks to the poster above for indicating where fans of WiC.net could go to enjoy an environment more in-line with what this site was originally supposed to be. I’ve stopped visiting this site all that much, so I didn’t realize how many of the people who made this specific community what it is/was had left for that new website.

Sayonara, WiC! Been a good few years, but time to remove you from my bookmarks and move on. Best of luck to the guys currently running the site.

I find this all very hilarious. WiC was warned, was constantly told to stop with the promoting, the ads, etc.

You reap what you deserve. You lose your users when you don’t listen, it’s that simple.

You haven’t learned, still, and you’re going to lose everyone.

    RIP Winteriscoming.net

What the fuck?! Why am I just learning that Fabio, Oz, Our is the Fury and Hear me Roar have left? I havent been visitng Wic.net that often recently but what the actual fuck, the core group of people that made this site so great have left and you didnt even bother to make a post about it?! Fuck this shit.

Yeah Im out, Watchers on the Wall here I come.

Sorry,no disrespect Fansided, but I found what you have done to this website annoying and destructive. When WIC started it was an outstanding place for GOT talk. Now there is so much that gets in the way (ads, the strange black margain, bizarre stories that have nothing to do with GOT) that its become unreadable I have hung on until I could find out where Oz and co went. Now I know that, bye byy

$50 dollars a month!!! Where do I sign up!!!

I guess the site is turning into another Buzzfeed/Huff Post. Find some impoverished, desperate wannabe writers who can get people to click on their copypasta articles.

    Just one giant click bait.

    ash,

Sorry you no longer like the site. That certainly wasn’t our intention. We have just hired a new editor and have reloaded a bit so we hope you will give the site another chance in the coming weeks. All the best.

If they had been of the sort to do that, the old guard probably wouldn’t have left in the first place.

Ever since Fansided has taken over this site, they have driven out all the old fandom, the creators and editors of this site, and turned it into a place no longer worth my time to visit or post in!

Thank the Seven I no longer have to come here, because it had become unbearable…a veritable repository of turds!

Good riddance…Winter Has Come And Gone…you’re just too blind to see it!

Wow, didn’t even know that the original crew had left… no wonder this place has been less than it was. Can’t believe they didn’t even have the ying yangs to let the readers know that they left. Well, that’s made me leave. Bye!

I’ve been visiting WIC.net regularly (daily) since well before Season 1 aired. I’ve been tolerating the increasing nonsense recently but this “article,” which could not have less to do with Game of Thrones, was the last straw. I hope those behind the curtain know what they have done to this once great fansite and how many, myself now included, they have driven away.

It’s truly baffling how so many who claim to be marketing and social media mavens are so grossly out of touch with the pieces that drive those very things.

Let them be the kings of charred bones and cooked meat.
