Game of Thrones is one of the most lavish and expensive television shows ever contemplated by any one in Hollywood, let alone actually produced. Filming in multiple countries simultaneously, it brings us a fully realized fantasy world for ten weeks a year.

One of the major facets of that world is the costuming. For five years, Michele Clapton has slowly built this world’s trends and styles brick by brick, until every corner of both Westeros and Essos had a distinct design aesthetic that contributed to the overall feel of each region.

Though Season 5 was Clapton’s last year with the production (veteran designer April Ferry will take over for Season 6), her work was as memorable as it had been during the four years that preceded it. We spent time in new places, characters reached different stages of their lives, and Arya even got to wear a skirt. We went through this season and ranked the Top 25 Best Looks from Game of Thrones Season 5.
