Maisie Williams was banned from spoiling Game of Thrones while on Doctor Who set

Sometime during ninth season of the revitalized Doctor Who, Maisie Williams will show up as an as-yet-mysterious character. We don’t much about her other than that she looks like a pint-sized female version of Zorro, but we’ll all find out when the show returns this Fall.

In the meantime, the cast of Doctor Who—including Peter Capaldi as the Doctor, Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald, and Michelle Gomez as the Master—sang the young actor’s praises during an interview at the ongoing San Diego Comic-Con. Coleman praised Williams for having a great deal of talent at a young age, and Capaldi called what she does “cosmic.” That’s good, right? Head over to the Belfast Telegraph to see video of the actors discussing Maisie’s guest spot (also, they’d like the Queen of England to make an appearance on the show—best to aim high).

Also of note is that Capaldi mentions that they all had to keep Williams from giving away any Game of Thrones spoilers during her time on set. Williams would have filmed her guest spot before Season 5 of Game of Thrones wrapped up, so in theory she was sitting on a powderkeg of information regarding Arya’s blindness, Stannis’ defeat, and of course Jon Snow’s assassination. Taking prophylactic measures was only prudent.
