Filming for Game of Thrones Season 6 begins very soon in the Spanish city of Girona, kicking off on Ferran el Catòlic Street (click here to see a schedule of exactly where and when the show will be in Girona over the next month or so). Predictably, the city is abuzz with anticipation, and La Vanguardia put out a video that takes fans through each of the eight areas of Girona where the show will be shooting. It’s more visually stimulating than just images, and gives people a really good idea of what to expect visually from Season 6. It’s not hard to imagine Arya darting through some of these tight stone corridors, or noblemen in period garb passing by some of the antiquated edifices.

Meanwhile, production in Girona is beginning in earnest, as crews prep the locations for shooting. According to the Diari de Girona, around 200 people are currently working in the city, with that number expected to rise as filming gets underway. Several businesses in the city’s Old Town (not to be confused with Westeros’ Oldtown) have had to be closed, and HBO is indemnifying the owners. As you can see, things are happening.

Girona isn’t the only place prepping for filming. Elsewhere, a fan snagged some photos of activity around Shane’s Castle in Northern Ireland, which has been used by the Game of Thrones production team in the past.

Interiors at Castle Shane were used in Season 5 to film the scenes in the interior of the Sept of Baelor, where Cersei was arrested. Jonathan Pryce, who plays the High Sparrow, is one of the many cast members lately seen buzzing around the filming locations, so odds are good that we’ll see him tromping around this set barefoot again come Season 6.
