Kick the tires and light the fires: this Thrones parody video is “Hot for the Winter”

Demi Lovato’s “Cool for the Summer” was one of the singles that lit up the charts this summer, which means it was only a matter of time before parodies started showing up. (I’m still recovering from the sheer number of “California Girls” parody videos that magically appeared after that Katy Perry hit was released.) True to form, the result of doing a Thrones-esque parody of the song proved entertaining, to say the least. Allow me to introduce you to “Hot for the Winter”:

Yes, there is a lot of butt-thrusting. Yes, that guy did say “Hodor in my heart but a wildling in bed.” No, you do not have to adjust your internets; what you are seeing is real. I truly love the audacity and dedication at work here. This is the most ridiculous Game of Thrones music video I’ve ever seen, and it’s AWESOME. Bonus points for fueling the Dany/Jon “ice/fire” endgame theory. If Jon has learned anything over these past five years, it’s that he definitely knows where to put his “littlefinger.” But maybe let’s put a pin in that “Red Wedding” idea, Daenerys.

Major kudos go out to the cast and crew of this gem. I may like it even more than the original, which is that weird “Weird Al” benchmark I have for parody music videos in general.
