Game of Thrones Passes Inspection, Riverrun To Film Next Week

I suppose the good news is that the show didn’t have to tear Riverrun and start all over because it was an inch too tall. But after filming in Corbet, which will stand in for Riverrun in Season 6, was stalled after a recent inspection to ascertain if the production had broken the boundaries of their permits, reports say that the inspectors gave the show the all clear.

After having Brienne stand still for nearly an entire season, the Pennytree scene, which features a reunion between two popular characters, would be fantastic. Though in truth, whatever’s being filmed at Corbet is probably much more focused on Jaime’s breaking of the siege at Riverrun.

It’s a full week’s delay, which is bad for the production in terms of scheduling, not to mention the extra time and money that will have to be spent. Hopefully, even though the bulk of shooting in Saintfield has officially finished, it’ll be able to juggle things around and do some of the stuff slated in Ireland for next week in the next couple of days.

Speaking of Saintfield, which is where the production has been filming a massive battle scene for weeks and weeks, Irish Thrones dropped a little hint about what we can expect from that sequence.

(Note that the celebration is described as being “the hard work with the Army Extras.” I assume there may be more stuff to film for the episode back at the studios?)
