Season 6 filming winds down as HBO turns the hype up

It’s been a long shooting season—longer than usual, actually—and while there are still filming reports trickling in from the set, it’s mostly a wrap on Game of Thrones Season 6.

Last week, we reported that the actors who played the Dothraki characters were heading home. This shot of the Dothraki hut the production built in Belfast, now bereft of the equipment used to light it, seems to back up the assertion that filming on this set is finished.

Meanwhile, Dean Charles Chapman is ready for some “Home Time” per this Instagram post, so it’s probably a wrap for Tommen Baratheon, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and King of the Andals and the First Men and all the rest.

There are some intriguing remnants left behind in Belfast, though. Here’s a photo of what looks like a weirwood tree in front of Titantic Studios, where Game of Thrones films a ton of material. I wonder where in Westeros this particular weirwood is located.

Filming may be coming to an end, but HBO is still riding the hype it created when it released that Season 6 teaser photo on Monday. It splattered a bit of blood on the Jon Snow Funko POP figurine and posted this recreation to the official Game of Thrones Instagram account.

I can’t decide if that’s more or less disturbing than the original. Finally, here’s a picture Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth) with Bono, because why not?
