Emilia Clarke promises Season 6 will have “the biggest moments on television…ever”

Emilia Clarke was making some big claims about Game of Thrones Season 6 on her way to one of the Golden Globes afterparties on Sunday. She was pulled aside by E! News and claimed that the upcoming season will have “the biggest moments on television that have ever existed.”

Quite a tall claim. On the one hand, I’m excited to see how the show plans to top its big moments from last year, like the Massacre at Hardhome and Drogon’s descent on Daznak’s Pit. On the other hand, I continue to be nervous that the show’s focus on big, splashy moments will come at the expense of nuance and density. We’ll all see for ourselves come April 24.

Clarke also weighed in on a few other Game of Thrones mainstay interview questions. How does she feel about the show overtaking the books? “Excited and nervous. There’s something for everyone.” Is Jon Snow alive or dead? “It’s just gonna be big.” Insert pleasant smile.

HI HO SPOILERS

Speaking of Jon Snow’s fate, there are some reports floating around that Kit Harington, who was in Rio de Janeiro for New Year’s Eve, had a few too many and spoke out of turn. According to a Direct Source column in newspaper Estadão de Sao Paulo, Harington revealed “to at least one interlocutor” that his character would return for Season 6.

It’s an awfully short blurb, so I wouldn’t take it too seriously, and given what we know about Jon Snow’s Season 6 fate already, the news isn’t really news at this point. Still, it’s something to add to the ever-growing rumor pile.

And now, in honor of Harington’s trip to South America, here’s a quick video of him dancing the samba.
