Tormund Giantsbane actor hops aboard new Fast & Furious film, and more

Game of Thrones actors continue to score swell gigs. First up, Kristofer Hivju, the actor who plays Tormund Giantsbane, will appear in the next installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise, which has been running for 15 years now. At the moment, the next entry is known only as Fast 8. According to The Wrap, Hivju will play a henchman working for the main villain, who it looks like will be played by Charlize Theron. So between seasons of Game of Thrones (assuming Tormund survives this upcoming one), he’ll spend time crashing cars with the Rock and Vin Diesel and the like. Hopefully he’ll come back with some good stories.

Interestingly, Hivju is the second Game of Thrones cast member to star in this franchise since the show began. Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei) had a supporting role in Furious 7. Maybe one of the Fast & Furious producers is a Game of Thrones fan?

Anyway, action movie role or not, Hivju will always be Tormund Giantsbane to us. Or the Wyndham Rewards guy.

Next, Pedro Pascal has signed on to appear in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, the sequel to last year’s Kingsman: The Secret Service, a wacky action-drama that was a surprise hit for Fox. He’ll be playing a character named Jack Daniels, and that’s virtually all we know about it. Still, if the Kingsman series keeps building momentum, Pascal may have found himself a nice little nest egg.

Finally, The Wrap has an interview with Michiel Huisman (Daario Naharis) in which he talks about a couple of his non-Game of Thrones-related projects, including The Invitation, a new thriller opening today. In it, a divorcee gets invited to a dinner party hosted by his ex-wife and her new husband (Huisman). And then…

The movie is getting excellent reviews, so it can only help Huisman’s career. The Wrap also asks Huisman how he handles getting asked about what’s coming on Game of Thrones—apparently, he likes to toy with people by making like he’s going to reveal spoilers and then backing off. Well, as long as he’s enjoying himself.
