Video: The Lannister army marches through Las Breñas while filming Game of Thrones Season 7

Filming on Game of Thrones Season 7 has wrapped up in Las Breñas, a private estate near Malpartida, Spain where the production worked from November 16-18. Los Siete Reinos has spectacular video of the big events that went down there. Beware SPOILERS below!

LSR reports that this shoot involved 300 troops and 70 horses. It was big. Check out the videos:

The Lannisters are coming! The Lannisters are coming!

Or, more likely, the Lannisters are going. We know that the Lannisters will raid Highgarden and then get assaulted by Daenerys and her army on their way out. We’re probably seeing them on en route back to King’s Landing here.

Next comes the battle. The production will be filming at Los Barruecos, particularly at the watery Barrueco de Arriba, for 22 days, which means we can expect a big set piece. LSR reports that director Matt Shakman is filming this material for Episode 4. Of all the directors working on Season 7, Shakman is the Game of Thrones newbie, which makes him an interesting choice for the big action episode.

Meanwhile, select cast members have been spotted in the area. Here’s James Faulkner (Randyll Tarly) and Tom Hopper (Dickon Tarly) in nearby Cáceres.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime) and Jerome Flynn (Bronn) have also been spotted. Now it’s just a matter of waiting for the likes of Emilia Clarke (Daenerys) to show up. For now, though, she’s still in Northern Ireland.

If, as spoilers suggest, Daenerys will be riding a dragon into this particular battle, she may well stay in Northern Ireland and film her scenes atop Drogon in front of a green screen in Titanic Studios in Belfast. For example:

No need to go all the way to Spain for that.

Meanwhile, Sophie Turner (Sansa) is in Rwanda for Women for Rwanda, an organization that helps women who experienced sexual violence during the Rwandan genocide 20 years ago.

Finally, Kit Harington (Jon Snow) is a little closer to home, snapping pictures with fans in London.
