We have the first images out of Cáceres’ Old City, as filming for Game of Thrones Season 7 in the area commences. The production is filming scenes set in King’s Landing here. Get seriously hyped, you guys, but beware SPOILERS!

Rain rolled in along with the cameras this morning, surprising the production, according to Hoy.es.

Most of the filming today is going on at the Plaza de las Veletas.

Despite the weather, the extras were out in force, dressed in every color of the pastel rainbow.

Here’s another shot of the crowd scene they are setting up, plus a video show their movements.

(Roughly translated: King’s Landing has dawned rainy, and may be tomorrow too. The #Lannisters are all wet.)

According to Los Siete Reinos, witnesses said the crowd went on to cheer lines of Lannister soldiers. The production is probably filming the “parade” Benioff and Weiss mentioned in an earlier interview.

However, Cersei Lannister and her brother are apparently no where near Cáceres while this was happening. Images emerged this morning of Lena Headey and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau…in Dubrovnik, Croatia. That tracks with what we reported about those cast members yesterday.

Funny how that works. Also, whoa on the new collar piece Cersei is sporting above. Also, her hair’s still short, so either not a lot of time has passed since Season 6 or she decided not to grow it out again.

Is this the armor for Cersei’s Kingsguard? She’s really embracing her dark new identity.

Finally, here’s a shot of Headey with whom we’re pretty sure is director Jeremy Podeswa, who is directing the premiere and the finale.

His picture, for comparison’s sake:

And here’s the production marching Coster-Waldau, Headey, and Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (Gregor “the Mountain” Clegane) through the streets, their faces protected by umbrellas.

It’s almost balletic.

The Dubrovnik Times reports that the production will film in the city for three days.
