Commenter Balerion the Cat has pointed us at some recently-published photos of the scene being filmed in Osuna’s bullring, including the above, of an extra being tended to by some of the crew–looks like blood being added, instead of taken away. The photos were first published at The Daily Mail. I’m guessing these pictures were taken yesterday, before the set collapse.
Below the jump, a few more, but these may be considered spoilers, both for a change to the story of the book, and a couple characters that non-readers might be surprised to see together.
Several of the photos focus on Ser Jorah Mormont in the midst of the combat. Although he was nearby during the novels, he wasn’t actually fighting. I think this may be a good change, to make the fighting feel more personal to the characters. On the other hand, wouldn’t Dany recognize him? It’ll be interesting to see how that story is resolved.
More Jorah. Speaking of that set collapse, you can see his hair being lifted by the wind.
Here are some of the other stars of the scene, watching from a shaded area. (The Daily Mail, being the Daily Mail, took time in its article to moralize about how the stars get shade but the extras don’t.) Apparently not present: Ian McElhinney as Ser Barristan Selmy. It’s also interesting that Dinklage has a seat there–it’s probably just to rest, but if not that would be another major deviation from the novels.
