The Doctor and Clara Invade Comic-Con in Exclusive Comic

We already know that Doctor Who‘s Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, and Steven Moffat are coming to San Diego Comic-Con next month, but according to a new comic book, the Twelfth Doctor and Clara will be there as well!

Titan Comics have now revealed their SDCC plans, including an exclusive comic set during the convention, variant covers for their ongoing series, and new vinyl figures.

The newest issues of all three ongoing Doctor Who issues (Tenth Doctor #13, Eleventh Doctor #14, and Twelfth Doctor #10) will be available in exclusive SDCC variants, featuring photos of David Tennant, Matt Smith, and Peter Capaldi in character. Put the three issues together and they form one giant image, with the London skyline looming in the background:

Two new SDCC-exclusive Doctor Who Titan vinyl figures will also be available (you know, the ones that aren’t quite as good as the recently released Pop! Vinyl figures). Both figures are Tenth Doctor variants: one wearing a fez (a la ‘The Day of the Doctor’) and the other wearing a tuxedo:

And finally, there’s the coup de grâce: a Comic-Con exclusive comic book featuring the Twelfth Doctor and Clara actually visiting the 2015 SDCC. In the special issue, the Doctor and Clara pop by the con and soon learn that cosplayers are spotting something sinister in the background of their photos. It’s up to everyone’s favorite Time Lord and his companion to stop the Lady of Neverness from entering our reality and destroying all life on the planet.

The comic will be available in two variant covers, both by veteran Doctor Who artist Alice X. Zhang:

Of course, the comic also contains a preview for Titan’s big summer Doctor Who event, Four Doctors, featuring the War Doctor and the Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Doctors together in an epic five-part crossover.

All I can say is that if you’re lucky enough to attend SDCC, you’re in for what looks like an amazing treat. And I am ridiculously, insanely jealous.
