It’s time for WiC Weekly, where we bring you the most popular Game of Thrones stories from the past week. We’re deep into the between-seasons lull here, but there’s still stuff coming in, like this one about Melisandre’s role in Season 6.

Next, if you missed it, HBO slipped some footage from Game of Thrones Season 6 into a wide-reaching trailer for the network’s shows. It’s the first clear we have at the new season!

The new footage debuted unexpectedly, and we assembled an emergency meeting of the Small Council to talk about it.

Finally, we cataloged your reactions to the new footage and to the Game of Thrones Season 6 teaser released last week. It was a busy few days for reading way too much into short snippets of scenes.

In other news, Gwendoline Christie has been sharing some thoughts on Game of Thrones Season 6 while on the media warpath for the upcoming Star Wars movie. Hear what she had to say.

So it turns out that people on the internet don’t really like Ramsay Bolton. Shocker, I know.

Some interesting Game of Thrones-themed funnies made their way onto the internet this week, from a theory about Jon Snow’s parents showing up unexpectedly in a diamond commercial, to Kelly Clarkson sending out possibly the coolest Christmas card ever:

Meanwhile, Netflix stepped up its ground war with HBO by claiming that one of its shows is more popular than Game of Thrones. Which show? It’s not clear, but them’s fighting words all the same.

R.I.P. banking subplots: Iron Banker Tycho Nestoris will be coming back for Season 6.

Lastly, check out this very interesting theory about why the dragons died out. It has to do with the genetics of the Targaryen family. I hope you remember your Punnett squares.
