Game of Thrones Screencap Breakdown: “Battle of the Bastards”
By Ani Bundel
This shot, of Ramsay being told he has no army: if I could GIF it, you would see his jaw working.
But it’s got nothing on the look he gets when Wun Wun starts pounds the crap out of the gates. “I’m sorry, no one is home right now. Please try your call again later…”
#fistgate. Like #facepalm.
For those keeping score at home, this is the second time we’ve seem Wun Wun bust through a gate this season.
But unlike the last time he led the wildlings through a gate, the Bolton forces inside Winterfell start firing arrows into him and turn him into a pin cushion.
He seriously looks like he has a lion’s mane of arrows here. Clearly, he’s not going to survive. Wun Wun has given his life for the cause.
One could argue that this arrow just put him out of his misery, really. But for Jon, it robbed him of a chance to say thank you, or goodbye.
Ramsay’s now done that twice.
And this is where Jon Snow snaps.
By the way, that’s a Mormont shield. Because Lyanna’s 62 troops are really that good.
These shots of the arrows hitting the shield as Jon relentlessly moves forward are amazing. I also love all the wildlings behind him staring at him like he’s gone crackers.
Once again, luck. If Ramsay had another half second he could have fired an arrow at point blank range and won.
NOPE.
Yes, that is Ramsay smiling as he is getting punched in the face over and over.
They filmed this for ten hours. TEN HOURS! And this is the only screen grab I took. Sorry guys.
Sansa needs him to stop now, anyway.
Jon really does look utterly inhuman here. And yet he comes back to himself when he sees Sansa.
Note that Ramsay is laid out like one of his Flayed Men images on the grounds of Winterfell.
Next: Winning?
