Video brings you behind the scenes of the Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience

HBO has been hyping its upcoming Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience for months. Now, weeks before it gets rolling on February 20 in Minneapolis, it’s given us a look behind the scenes with some rehearsal footage. See conductor and GoT composer Ramin Djawadi play “Light of the Seven” on the piano, accompanied by musicians, singers and some rather impressive pyrotechnics. Seeing actual vocalists belt out that ominous chorus is a treat.

That wildfire explosion at the conclusion was spectacular. According to Djawadi, the showmanship is all about giving the audience an immersive experience. “Visually, we will place the orchestra, and also with that, the audience, in Westeros,” Djawadi told People. “Some of the screens can actually come down and surround the orchestra and place you within a snowstorm.”

Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) and Liam Cunningham (Davos) were also on hand for the rehearsals (as a musician himself, Anderson may have especially appreciated it). All three gave short video interviews to People, with Anderson touching on what he plans to do once the show has wrapped.

"I have a major heist planned to just take everything… Everything that’s quite small, I feel like I can conceal it in my costume."

Somebody keep an eye on that guy.

HBO, and Djawadi himself shared a plethora of images from the concert floor, giving us an even better look behind the scenes. Check ’em out.

All right, air violin.

And of course, Djawadi, Cunningham and Anderson all took time to pose with various Funko Game of Thrones figurines.
