News: First Look at The Doctor Falls poster and information
The last one off of season 10 just ended, but don’t despair – in fact, get excited. Steven Moffat is not about to waste what is the first ever Double Master story in Who History.
According to Radio Times, the episode The Doctor Falls, which follows the episode next week, World of End and Time, will be a special hour-long episode. So far, not much has been released about the penultimate episode, The Doctor Falls, and even the synopsis is only one sentence.
"The Mondasian Cybermen are on the rise. It’s time for the Doctor’s final battle…"
While much has been released for next week’s episode. Much of what happens in the final episode on July 1 is unknown. But here’s what we at Doctor Who Watch do know:
- It’s an hour long
- Both Masters are at large
- The Doctor Falls is PART 2 of what World of End and Time starts
To honor this iconic event, BBC released a picture (featured above) to match the 2013 Day of the Doctor picture. Two Masters, back to back, with the Doctor in the Middle, to match the three Doctor poster.
At this point, we still don’t know if the regeneration will happen during the episode, and at this point, we don’t know if John Simm will appear in both parts or just the finale on July 1. The teaser after tonight’s episode showed the Master, but also the Mondasian Cybermen, which looks like they will be featured more heavily in Part 2 than in Part 1.
This is not the first time Moffat has extended finale episodes. Both Death in Heaven and Hell Bent, the finales for the last two seasons have been extended as well.
This is going to be a lot, and we already know someone is not going to make it out. Is it going to be the companion, a Master, or possibly the Doctor himself?
