WiC Live: We talk through “Stormborn”

Each week, myself and FanSided’s Kayla Knierim break down each new episode of Game of Thrones season 7 on the Winter is Coming Facebook page for your viewing pleasure. Our latest video, all about “Stormborn” is embedded above!

This week, we have two surprises: 1) We got a Stark-colored rug, and; 2) Culturess editor Gwen Purdom is on hand to lend us her inestimable expertise!

We’re hoping to have many guests (and giveaways, I promise) as the season goes on. But for now, let’s get to talking about “Stormborn.” Today’s topics include:

  • What do we think of Sam’s new rebellious attitude, and just how much grosser are the scenes at the Citadel going to get?
  • Once again, Arya had the most powerful scenes this week. What’s contributing to her comeback season?
  • Is Jon and Sansa’s relationship typical of brothers and sisters, and are they headed toward a more pronounced split? Or…is there something deeper going on there? Yes, I’m sorry — we touch ever-so-briefly on shipping culture.
  • Daenerys gets to Westeros and immediately starts shaking things up among her allies. What kind of ruler does she really want to be, and who’s advice should she take to make it happen?
  • Missandei and Grey Worm: Love in the Time of Genital Mutilation
  • We evaluate Cersei’s skills as a salesperson. And did Jaime get through to Randyll Tarly, or might he still fight for Olenna?
  • Kayla: “Who was the new hot guy?”
  • Are we ready to embrace Euron Greyjoy as the new villain we love to hate?
  • Are we angry at Theon for abandoning Yara? Or do we understand why he did it?

And that’s all for now! We hope you enjoy our discussion, and remember, we’ll be streaming this show live every Monday at 10:00 a.m. on the Winter is Coming Facebook page. Next week: “The Queen’s Justice,” wherein Euron brings back his prize, the Unsullied pay a visit to Casterly Rock, and ice and fire finally meet.
