Game of Thrones season 7 is over, but preproduction on season 8 is underway. Some of this week’s big news items dealt with the beginning of the end. Let’s go over it.

First up, we had our first new casting call for season 8. It’s our last first casting call ever!

Sticking closer to the just-wrapped-up season 7, HBO announced the release date for the DVD and Blu-ray home releases. There’ll be some juicy extras on there.

The Game of Thrones cast members are looking back to, only they’re looking back on the entire series:

The likes of Lena Headey, Kit Harington, Pilou Asbæk, and many more take fans behind the scenes of the massive meeting in the Dragonpit in the season 7 finale.

Looking past even season 8, some networks (or whatever you want to call Amazon’s video platform) is looking for the next big thing.

Was the scene where the Night King killed Viserion realistic? I mean…of course not. It’s an ice monster killing a dragon. But there are still things we can nit-pick.

Finally, HBO puts out a video taking fans behind the scenes of “The Queen’s Justice,” the third episode of Game of Thrones season 7.
