BBC, Twice Upon a Time

Looking to continue the tradition of seeing the Christmas Specials in theatres? Then you’ll be happy to hear Twice Upon a Time will be in theatres for one night only!

Entertainment Weekly announced that Twice Upon a Time will be in theatres for one night on December 27th at 7 pm. It will mark the 16th cinema event presented in North America.

Twice Upon a Time includes a fair amount of Classic feeling with the First Doctor and his two companions and Peter Capaldi’s regeneration into Jodie Whittaker.  So why not put it on the big screen?

Here’s the synopsis of the iconic episode

"Two Doctors stranded in a forbidding snowscape, refusing to face regeneration. And a British army captain seemingly destined to die in the First World War, but taken from the trenches to play his part in the Doctor’s story. This is the magical last chapter in the Twelfth Doctor’s epic adventure. He must face his past to decide his future. And the Doctor will realise the resilience of humanity, discovering hope in his darkest frozen moment. It’s the end of an era. But the Doctor’s journey is only just beginning. If the sheer hype of the episode isn’t enough to make you want to see it in theatres, BBC has thrown in a few more reasons. Two in fact. There will be behinds the scenes of the episode and videos to celebrate Peter Capaldi, seen only in theatres.Theatre versus Stay at homeNormally, I’m a “why spend money when you can watch it for free” person, but I’m thinking about going this year. With everything being out of the world (pun intended) fantastically set up for this episode, it seems worth it. David Bradley, Mark Gatiss, a regeneration scene, and the first female Doctor. At the very least, it’s a historical moment for the show. Also, who wants to miss a chance at watching it with fellow Whovians if you happen to be the only one in your family? I’ll definitely be spending the money this year to make it happen.Next: Is a Spring Special possible as well?So celebrate Christmas for a couple extra days while we watch the regeneration episode on the 27th.
